You can check the battery fuse or the charging fuse. If it's more then that it's going to be a very costly fix.

SOURCE: 9120 Battery Failure

sounds like inverter is unhappy(causing the input fuse to blow. maybe, just maybe, this Powerware 9120 has given up the ghost? The inverter can short for a variety of reasons. Try to take out the battery completely, and run it as just a power conditioner. If that works, then you have an unhappy inverter in there.

Greetings!
How many years is your ups working? UPS is usually run by a battery, some of them are disposable and needs replacement. If it does not charge anymore it needs replacement of battery.
Thanks.

Hi,

After you replaced the batteries did you perform a manual battery test?

If not do so.

SOURCE: Powerware 9120 BUS Unbalanced error display

I've had this same issue what it boils down to is that the Power IN is not being distributed properly across the Power Outlets.

Step 1. unplug everything from the unit and power the ups down. If the alarm clears itself the UPS is mostly likely fine. if it doesn't not clear send it in for repair

Step 2. If step 1 cleared the alarm try distributing the decives across the outlets differently.

There are two inverters so two output if everything is plugged into one side (ie a power bar with 10 things plugged into it) and nothing on the other side this could cause the alarm.

hope this helps

My Powerware 9120 2000 has low power alarm and shutdown at 50% charge

A Powerware 9120 2000 is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) device that provides power backup to connected devices in case of power outages or other power issues. If the UPS is shutting down at 50% charge and showing low power alarm, there could be several possible causes:
  1. The battery is failing: The UPS is designed to shut down when the battery charge reaches a certain level to prevent damage to the battery. If the battery is failing, it may not be holding a charge and may need to be replaced.
  2. The battery is not compatible: Make sure that the battery you are using is compatible with the Powerware 9120 2000 UPS. Using an incompatible battery can cause the UPS to shut down or display error messages.
  3. The battery cable is loose: Check the battery cable connections to ensure that they are tight and secure. A loose battery cable can cause the UPS to shut down or display error messages.
  4. The UPS is overheating: Check the UPS for any signs of overheating, such as a hot feeling on the top of the unit or a burning smell. An overheating UPS can cause the UPS to shut down or display error messages.
  5. The UPS firmware is outdated or corrupted: Check to ensure that the UPS firmware is up to date and not corrupted. Outdated or corrupted firmware can cause the UPS to shut down or display error messages.
If none of these solutions solve the problem, it's recommended to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance. They will have the knowledge and expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose the issue with your Powerware 9120 2000 UPS.

I got charger failure alarm on display.

Unless new and hardly used - check the internal batteries. They might be worn out and fail to hold a proper charge. This to be able to deliver power when AC mains cuts out.

I have a powerware 9120 (6kva) and about 1 week i replaced all 20 batteries after the UPS failed. but its displaying battery disconnected when i try to power it. i cant seem to figure the problem. i tried...

Did your UPS display "Battery disconnected" or did it display "Battery Failure"? If it was "Battery Failure", for some reason the Powerware 9120 will take almost 18 hours after plugging in to power after battery replacement to correct the Battery Failure indication. Charger has to charge up the batteries, followed by an automatic battery test by the UPS. If the indication was "Battery Disconnected", you will need to check the internal fuses to see if they are blown. If the UPS keeps blowing fuses, it will require a board repair.

We had a power outage for about 45 minutes a few days ago. Ever since then the Powerware 3110 has been beeping. I turned it off and left it plugged in overnight and when I turned it back on the beeping...

This could be several things, fortunately the device should actually be helping you to diagnose the issue. There are different beeps for different issues. They are as follows:

1 Beep Every 5 Seconds = Power Outage\Loose Plug Connection\Tripped Circuit Breaker\Power Cord Damage or Failure

2 Beeps Every 5 Seconds = Low Battery Alarm

3 Beeps Every 5 Seconds = Battery Needs Charging\Service\Replacement

3 Beeps Every 5 Minutes = The Battery is discharged and battery power is unavailable (If this continues battery replacement may be necessary)

1 Beep Ever 1/2 Second = Power Requirements exceed the UPS Capacity (remove some equipment to lighten the load on the unit)

Continuous Beep = Short Circuit / Input Voltage out of Range / UPS Fault (Likely replacement of entire unit)

That should help diagnose the actual issue. If it turns out the battery needs to be replaced they can be found online for around $20. A simple google search for Powerware 3110 Battery should return what you're after. Good luck!

Short backup time

Suspect battery failure/faulty cell in a batt
Remove batts and check outside unit
charge up to around 2.27V/cell then check discharge on each batt (12V car lamp is good dummy load)
faulty one will be obvious.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE VERY CAREFUL WITH BATTERIES, THEY ARE VERY DANGEROUS, AND ALWAYS LIVE!

Check you manual for safety procedures, BEFORE working on Batteries.

hope this helps

The UPS dont go to on batteri

Replace the batteries with new one then power the UPS without load for three hours or more so that the batteries can be charged. Then disconnect or switch off power to the UPS and observe if it will till be on using the batteries. If it will be ON then your problem is solved but if it goes off then your UPS is on BYPASS
