there is a screen in the tank at the shutoff valve best bet it to remove it and tear it out and use a in line filter where it is easier to replace

SOURCE: gas in oil

First of all check to see you have a good spark, If it is running fine under load ignition should not be an issue. If un burnt fuel or over fueling causes the oil / gas to wash down the cylinder walls. I would also perform a leakdown test not a compression test, remove the dipstick and listen for air coming out the crankcase, that will give you an idea if you ahve a ring problem. Also remove the air filter and see if you have any blow back from the carb blowing out where the choke butterfly is. If it has less than 150 hours on it, the rings may also not be seated in, try the above then run it hard on load and check it again

SOURCE: MY HONDA 3000 IS GENERATOR KEEPS STALLING OUT, BUT IT ALWAYS STARTS UP IMMEDIATELY FOR ME, COULD IT BE OVERHEATING?

No, as with most small equipment engines, the culprit is the carburetor. You'll need to soak it in carb cleaner overnight in a sea;ed container and install the rebuilt kit for it.

My Honda generator 3000 / inverter has a horrible gas leak what could it be

Try the tube that runs between the fuel tank and the carburetor. I have seen them crack since the tank is stationary and the engine is on rubber motor mounts. That line is in constant motion.

Gas getting into crankcase has new carburator

Sounds like the float is not set properly or the needle valve is not seated properly.

Start the engine

I assume you refer to a 6500 watt Honda, if it's electric start/and manual(pull cord) First supply a 12 volt battery /if you haven't put fresh gas in it do the best you can to remove all the old gas from the tank and you should find drain screws and small hoses on the lower part of the carburetor. After completing this step add about 1 gallon or so of fresh gas, remove the air filter system from the face of the carburetor ,with a small squirt bottle put a tea spoon or so of gas into the of the carb, close the choke and turn the key, if it fires let it run with the choke closed for only a few seconds then slowly open the choke fully, if the engine stalls close the choke and start the engine again do not leave the choke closed for extended periods as this will cause engine flooding and spark plug failure. Also be sure you have inspected the existing spark plug to be sure it's clean if there is any question about the plug change it.

What would cause a Honda Generator not to stay idled up?

There's 2 possible causes . I believe there's a service bulletin from American Honda to replace the small electric motor on top of the carburetor , if still under warranty you good if not have your local dealer contact tech line for a good will warranty . 2nd cause is the inverter behind the front panel . The inverter controls spark , idle and all of the electronic and electric components on your generator . Hope this helps

My 3000 watt Duracell inverter will not start a 1 1/2 hp electric motor. The voltage drops to 45v and the electric motor struggles to reach full rpm. This is a table saw with no load. The generator revs...

have the saw motor checked for internal and wiring problems
check the start/run capacitor of the electric motor
running a 1 1/2 hp motor (1075 watts) on a generator that has a running wattage of around 2250 watts means that it should start and come to speed immediately if the motor is good
the problem indicates that there is a circuit problem in the saw motor that is exceeding the available wattage (3000 watts ) on start up

My generator will run great and then all the sudden it will start to spit and sputter and die. After a few min you can restart it and it will run great again for a period of time and then start to spit and...

could be a ton of things. water in the gas will separate in the carb and effect it. restrictions in the fuel line/filter is another. I would look there first as it does not appear to be electrical or mechanical.

My 3000 watt honda generator doesn't seem to put out the proper power

http://cdn.powerequipment.honda.com/pe/pdf/manuals/31ZT7601.pdf

I would check spark arrester and clean it and the muffler first.lt could be the inverter unit. If you have a meter determine the output voltage, and freq. You would need a scope to look at waveform the repair should be lest to a repair center. suggest you call Honda for more guidance.
You could spend a lot of money on maybe parts./

Oil leaking out my honda 3000is generator.

In the process of using diesel generator set, soft rubber pipe is easy to rub with the parts around it, and it is easy to wear and tear oil leakage in the long run. However, most of the fuel supply system of diesel generator set uses soft rubber tube, so it is not easy to find the oil leakage point. Below are instructions provided by Starlight Power small make up to teach you a few diesel generator unit pipeline leak spot check method.

Method one: exhaust the air from the diesel generator unit, then start the unit to find out the leak point.

Method two: release the gas screw of the unit injection pump and release the oil from the hand oil pump. If it is found that the discharge screw starts to discharge a large amount of bubble oil, and the bubble still does not disappear after the repeated hand pump, it can be determined that there is a leak point in the low pressure oil pipeline from the oil tank to the oil pump section. The pipeline should be removed, pressure gas and placed in water, to find out where the bubble is the leak point.
