Based on your description, it is possible that the power supply is starting to go. Before doing anything, first check to see if it is the TV or the source. Use a few different sources to narrow down the problem. You didn't mention what type of hookup you used from the receiver to the TV. Assuming you are using HDMI, it is possible that the cable is intermittent. Try using a different one. Also try as below. 1. Once the TV is working with sound, what happens if you turn the TV off and then back on, is the sound still there? 2. Use the TV antenna input to see if you can replicate the problem using an antenna. If the problem is indeed the TV, it should do the same with the antenna.
