SOURCE: i want to be able to just pick up the handset and have it

Depending on the software level, there is a possible chance for this to work...

first question though... can you dial a 9 to get a line out?
If this is possible, that means that we can change the PRIME LINE for a line pool access rather than intercom.

-> Get into system programming
-> get into TERMINALS&SETS and type in your extension
-> enter LINE ACCESS and hit next till you find PRIME LINE it should say I/C (this is intercom)
-> press change till you see PoolA
-> hit next and RLS to end programming.

Now everytime that you pick up your handset, it will pick the first available line out!

SOURCE: Nortel M7310 Phone moved to another jack, now no incoming calls

The reason your phones config is not the same as before is because configuration goes by what extension it is. So if you plug your phone in somewhere else, unless you have DN's configured, your extension changes, so say it was extension 21, but now that you moved it, its now 23, those settings remain on extention 21, so if you bought another phone and plugged it into were extention 21 is, it would have the settings that your old phone had before

To access the intercom by just picking up the handset, Press Feature **CONFIG (266344), Select <A. Configuration>, then go to <2. Line Access>, Select that and enter the extension of the phone you want to have access intercom by just picking up the handset. Scroll until you see <Intercom Keys: #,> make sure you have at least one intercom key. Then scroll until you see <Prime Line: #>, Press change until the display reads <Prime Line:I/C>  And there you go. Hope i didn't confuse you

ON PHONE KX-T7420 NEED TO CHANGE HANDSET RINGTONE . WE HAVE FOUR IN ONE OFFICE AND ALL SAQME RINGTONE.

The phone has 8 ring tones. From the idle phone, press PROGRAM and dial 99. Press the intercom or a CO line button TWICE and dial 2-8 on the keypad (1 is already default). When you're satisfied with the tone, press STORE. You have to do this for each line and the intercom you want to change and you need to do this at each phone. Pick up the handset and drop it back down to exit programming.

Hello, please i want to know how to set up speed dial on the KXT7730 that is not the main line ie not on 0, or 101 on the switch board

Guessing that you already know about SYSTEM speed dials, then the 12 buttons on the right side of your phone are the PERSONAL speed dials. When you get dial tone on the intercom, you can dial "9" and the system will either give you a dial tone, or the highest line in the system. If that is not a working line, you need to fix that first (system program 400 assigns lines in service).

Once you have that, a PF button is programmed by pressing PROGRAM, the button, and dial 9 + your number dialed the same way as if you had pressed a CO button then STORE. You can keep pressing PF buttons and programming numbers. Then press PROGRAM or pick up the handset and drop it back down to end programming.

I was storing some extension numbers and spead dial numbers and I must have done something wrong as anytime I pick up handset to make a call a 'reorder tone' message comes up on the display- this is before...

So don't pick up the handset :-)

There are some line preference and pickup dial programs that just happen to sit in PROGRAM 1x. My guess is that you have assigned an empty or invalid pickup dial code to the phone.

Try this first. Press PROGRAM and dial 12 ENTER. Is the Hot Line mode ON? If it is, press SEL and ENTER. Wow. That was easy :-)

Didn't work? Let's go for Preferred Line Outgoing next. Dial PROGRAM 19 and 3 ENTER. That makes the intercom prime (0 is none, 1 is idle line 2 (xx) is a specific line).

If you tried both of these, and still no joy, then it's time to reset the phone. The problem with that is you have to dial the code IMMEDIATELY as you're picking up the handset. Good luck with that. The reset code is 79# or 790.

How do we set Personal speed dialling on KX-T7730?

Down the right side of the phone you have 12 Personal Feature buttons. Also, from the intercom, dial "9" and see if you get an outside line. If you don't, you need to fix that in system programming.
Now, from your phone, press PROGRAM, one of the 12 right side buttons, and dial "9" plus the number you want and STORE. You can continue programming all 12 buttons and when you're done, pick up the handset and drop it back down to exit programming.

You dial them by pressing speakerphone or picking up the handset and pressing the button.

The snowboard shop I work in has a Panasonic XDP Model KX-T7220 corded phone, how do I program the phone so the 24th line is our intercom?

I see what you're asking, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean. The INTERCOM of all Panasonic systems is a feature where you get internal dial tone. That button cannot be reassigned. However, in some installations, we will tie an outside line to paging equipment which when you press the button you go to an external amplifier, or you use the button to dial the EPG code (321 or 322) or 32* or 33* for all zones/page.

If you're talking the latter, you can press PROGRAM 99 the 24th button, and dial 0+01-xx STORE to put a specific line (trunk) under the button, or 2+3xx STORE to put a paging access code under the button.

In all cases, you exit programming with PROGRAM 99 or just pick the handset up and drop it back down in the cradle.

I'm guessing (the Pana gotcha!) that you forgot the "2" in the "convert a CO/DSS button to one-touch" command.

What happens when you dial "9" into the intercom dial tone? Is that the line you wnat to auto select?

A lot depends on the system your phone is connected with. In a TA series on an idle phone, press PROGRAM 11 for no preference (what you have) 12 for Idle line (what you get when you dial 9) or 13 and a number from 1 to however many lines you have to select a specific line.
Those commands are followed by the STORE button and PROGRAM to end the programming.

I have a kx-ta624..one of my extensions was programmed to co1 and now I want to program it to co3... how do I do this?

It's been a few years since I programmed a 624, but here goes.

IIRC the 624 selects lines in 1,2,3 order vs. the 824's 321. Dial "9" from the intercom and you can verify this.

The system has 3 modes of operation when it comes to outside line access, No preference (gives you intercom dial tone) Idle line preference (gives you the same as if you dialed "9", and specific line preference.

From the phone, do not pick up the handset but press PROGRAM or use the set switch to program, dial 1 1 for none, 1 2 for idle, or 1 3 x for a specific line. Any of those commands would be followed by STORE.

Put the system back in SET or press the PROGRAM button to exit.

With any line preferenc, you have to press Intercom to dial internally or page. If your specific line is busy, you won't get anything when you pick up the phone or press SP PHONE. It also disables Last Number redial if the line is busy.

Did I mention that I don't use it :-) Of course, I don't use the 624 either.

Ring tones on KX-T7433

Wow, this is your lucky day :-)

From each phone, press PROGRAM 99 and the INTERCOM or CO buttons TWICE, then dial 1-8 and STORE. (default is 2). You can now make each line and intercom different, or each phone (up to 8) different. After you finish with each phone, just pick up and drop the handset back into the cradle to end programming.

The feature is called Ringing Tone Selection.
