Hi , have you checked the charger ? try another charger if possible, how old are the batteries and how long have they been left without charging ?

Pride pursuit has little power in reverse

I am not an expert on such things but I have had a little experience of a mobility scooter with a similar symptom or fault.

Speed control is by a switch-mode power supply and reverse is by circuitry and relays (or SCR's) that change the polarity of the supply.
The fault on Sam's just-out-of-warranty scooter was caused by an electronic fault in the polarity change circuitry, which was just a small part of the large single circuit board. I approached the manufacturer who told me no repairs were possible and a complete new board would have to be purchased at a huge cost.

I argued the point on behalf of my customer and finally a new board was sent free of charge which put matters right.

I fully expect your problem is likely to have a similar cause, though you might be fortunate enough to be able to obtain circuit diagrams for local repairs, a manufacturer repair or a refurbished board at a reasonable cost.

A possible cause of such faults might be the weakening effect of electricity surges in the supply during battery charging. It would be wise to only charge the batteries when a surge protector is used in the mains supply, such as is recommended for all mains powered electronic devices including computers.

I hope this helps.

Does anyone by any chance know what oil goes in a qingqi 49cc scooter. It has it's own little reservoir inside the seat panel. Can anyone tell me what does it take. Confused and don't know.

Hello, Qingqi. I found this article that says SJ10W-40 is best for a 49cc gas-powered scooter. http://www.ask.com/vehicles/type-oil-use-49cc-gas-powered-scooter-e2ec930521cd0a6a

Power cuts out while going along

Battery connections are first suspect, next connections loose, next throttle has a worn spot that a little bump can trip the controller. you can try putting the scooter up on a couple blocks so the drive wheels are off the ground and then operate the throttle while banging on the tiller. you may find your problem quickly that way .

Scooter has very little power just replaced both batteries what else do i check

check the spped control pot and the throttle pot. You will need a ohm meter to check both pots Usually replacing the speed pot will help but it could be both speed and throttle pot Hope this helps

I will drive for about a mile with full power with little power lose.then all of a sudden, ill have extreme power loss . within 1quarter mile ill lose all power.something drains the batteries

Batteries do not provide a linear output during usage, but having it die out within a mile or so tells me that one of the battery cells is becoming weaker than the rest. If you're a handyman, you can save yourself a ton of money by replacing only the batteries (try interstate batteries) instead of going to the scooter store and purchasing the batteries and case.

Need to haul power chair and scooter at the same time

If it were me I would make the rear landing bigger instead of having that scooter inside with me .. incase of an accident I wouldnt want that in the car floating around.. you could have a welder make your rear lift a little larger and put a small ramp on it for the scooter also.. just a idea.. thanks Jerry ..
