The plastic cover faceplate on the front where the on/off switch and LED indicator lights "pops" off. (you will need a sharp pen knife blade to get into the seam and start this process.) Once the faceplate is removed you will see 4 phillips-head screws that hold the two halves of the body together. Taking the body apart will reveal the two rechargeable batteries, but the bad news is that these were not designed to be replaced and are actually bonded (glued) to the control circuit board.
How to open it was described at a site I found:
To open the case on a Remington DA-307, remove the foil and blades. There are 2 small screws on the side of the cutters. Remove these and pry the top apart. I had to wedge a small screwdriver between the halves to get started. Pinch in the sides of the shaver about midway while continuing to pry and the two mid tabs will release. With the switch side facing up, carefully and forcefully pry it open while twisting the top and bottom in opposite directions. Slip a small screwdriver into the groove that starts just below the side grips and slip it down about 1/2 " and twist. This should release the bottom tabs.* * * * *
I was able to pry it apart this way, and hope to succeed in replacing the 2 batteries, which are AA size 600mAh capacity with solder tabs. They are glued in but can be pried off the circuit board. A small spring fell out of somewhere, I think from under one of the buttons that release the screen head. Will post again if I succeed in replacing batteries and re-assembling.

Was able to replace batteries and re-assemble... Shaver works, BUT the beard trimmer doesn't. There's a small plastic piece linking the vibration source to the trimmer blade assembly that can fall out of place during disassembly. Getting it back exactly right so far has escaped me. It LOOKS like I have it right, but the trimmer doesn't cut hardly at all, so there's some kind of alignment issue. Considering the time and money spent, I might have done better buying a refurbed model, and I say that as a habitual fixer.
I managed to get my DA-307 apart, but in the process one of the side pieces (the thin dark strips that fill the long oval down the sides) cracked into two long pieces. I'm trying that liquid glue that supposed to "weld" plastic pieces together in hopes that it will make this strong enough to withstand reassembly. That said, in the event that it is not sufficiently strong and cracks during reassembly, does anyone have that box of "extra parts" that all of us habitual fixers have (chronically habitual in my case) that might have one of those plastic strips in it? And if so, would anyone be willing to donate said part to a good cause? I've had this DA-307 since at least 2000 - possibly even as early as 1999 - and I absolutely love this thing. Now that I've got it apart to replace the batteries, I would really hate to just toss the thing because of one little cracked side strip of plastic.
Dino.

Usually starts with screws on bottom of shaver where power cord is plugged in. most shavers have soldered in batteries, not an easy replacement.
Obviously, you don't have this shaver. There are no screws at the bottom as described. There ARE 2 screws to be seen if you lift off the shaver screen, but they seem to be insufficent. There are others... somewhere. DON'T POST GARBAGE ANSWERS.

Same problem. No help here yet. I'll post if I figure it out.
