How do you establish TV channels on this device?

The TV has the cable set up but it is not picking up any channels. We are under the "tuner" section and have tried all four modes of picking up channels without any luck. This TV did not come with a manual so any tips are much appreciated! Thanks!

How do I add the HD channels picked up my HD antenna to the master channel list on my Visio TV?

Hello, with the set on, press the menu button, move the cursor down till the "Tuner" section is hi-lighted, click on it. Then the first selection is "Tuner Mode" click on it, the choose "Antenna" click on it. Then move to the "Auto Channel Scan" and click on it, and let it set all your channels. when done, just exit menu and change channels as desired. you can go to page 39 in your manual for these instructions: Tuner Mode
Select Cable or Antenna depending
upon which equipment you have
attached to the DTV / TV Input.
Auto Channel Search
Automatically search for TV channels
that are available in your area. Be
sure to first select the correct tuner
mode above. The TV will search for
analog and digital channels. When the
search is done, press EXIT to begin
watching your programs. thanks, Terry

Got a 19" LG LCD

To convert a LCD Monitor into a TV
Instructions
    • 1

Compare internal and external TV tuners that are designed for use with computers. See if the tuner supports HD, DVI, component video, S-video, stereo, surround sound or other features you might like to use. Ensure that any internal devices will work with the expansion slots in your computer.

    • 2

Purchase a regular TV tuner if your monitor has S-video, coaxial or RCA inputs. These can be seen at the back of the monitor. S-video should be clearly marked; coaxial is a large round port, and RCA inputs are typically smaller and brightly colored. If your monitor does not have these inputs, purchase a special TV tuner designed just for computer monitors. If you would like to use the tuner with your computer and monitor, choose an internal TV tuner. If you're using your computer monitor as a television on its own, select a stand-alone external tuner. Install the internal TV in your computer, if applicable.

    • 3

Connect the TV tuner to the monitor with the proper cable. Select S-video as the connection option if both your tuner and monitor support it. Choose RCA component video as your next option. Use coaxial only if your monitor and tuner do not have the aforementioned connections. If your monitor has none of these connections, use a standard VGA cable to connect the tuner and monitor.

    • 4

Connect the tuner's audio outputs to your monitor's speakers. If your monitor has no speakers directly attached, connect external speakers to the TV tuner. This can usually be achieved using regular audio or RCA cable.

    • 5

Install an HD antenna high on a wall if you will be picking up free over-the-air television signals with your monitor. If you will be using satellite or cable TV with your monitor, simply plug the satellite or cable set top box into the tuner using RCA or coaxial cables. Then connect the tuner directly to the monitor.

    • 6

Set your tuner to the channel you use to pick up television stations. If you receive free over-the-air television, this channel will be 3 or 4. If you have satellite or cable TV, this station is determined by your television service provider. Check the documentation that came with your system to determine which channel to set the tuner on. You will probably need to change channels using the satellite or cable box rather than the TV tuner.

Cant figure out how to set TV to cable setting

The company's page for this set is here. There's a link toward the bottom to download the user's manual.

If I read the manual correctly, you're out of luck without an external tuner such as a cable box. This set was made for the European market and its tuning system isn't fully compatible with that used in the US. There's a "channel swap" function which lets you reassign the channels it finds to whatever channel number you want, and it's described in the manual. I assume that's to allow for the different frequency/channel number assignments in use in all the areas it tries to cover. The set's tuner just may not be able to pick up all the channels on your cable system. As long as it gets US channel 3 or 4 correctly, you can use the set with a cable box or video recorder that properly tunes the cable channels.

I have some channels lock in which i can't pick up. How do i unlock them?

Channels Lock? is this for the TV? this is under the Computer section so I am going to asume you are trying to watch TV from your PC and some channels are locked and you cannot watch them? if you are normally suppose to get them and you are using a tv tuner from cable (for example) you should be able to modify this in the tv tuner settings.

Tuner will not pick up cable box on channel 3, front and rear AV

In order for the TV to work with the cable box by using a piece of coax and tuning the TV to channel 3, you must make sure the TV is in "Cable" mode on the tuner and not "AIR or Antenna" the frequency maps are different between these types of service and channel 3 cable will not be the same as channel 3 on Air or UHF/VHF.

Often there is an auto program feature on TV's that will "scan" for all available channels, and this should select the proper input type.

Hope this helps!

Channel tuner problems???

Probably one of two things..... LOW cable signal and tuner can not pick up the channel... or the tunner itself is bad.

TV gets all channels, except 2-6

In most cases when you set your menu ("tuner section") to cable, the tv will pick up all channels, but if you set it to "off air" or "antenna" (or whatever the other choice is labeled), then the tv will only go up to about channel 50 or 60. Are you using cable, dish, or an antenna on top of your house. If using cable or dish, then go into the menu on your tv and set the tuner to "cable". I am pretty certain that your tuner is NOT currently set on "cable" and that also there are no local "off air" channels in your area on 2 thru 6, therefore, you see snow on these channels. I have repaired hundreds of tv's and I feel very strongly that your problem is in your menu.

Tuner Problems

OK the tuner may be causing these problems, however first I would like you to go to your menu and set the RF pickup to antenna (This will allow analog channels) then come out of the memu and select a channel in the analog range channel 4, 7, or 9 try to tune in these channels. If this fails then you may have tuner problems the only way to be sure is to use a RF signal generator to send RF through the tuner and see if the video and audio being carried on that signal comes through. Sometimes the Internet connect gets messed up when the TV does not have the proper RF filters this may be your case. Try this use a Cable tv set top box and just set your TV to channel 3 for cable. This should Isolate the TV from the Internet cable modem and provide the signal needed by the TV.
