Only way it works is if it is on charger. When it's suppose to be fully charged and take it off charge it won't turn on
Batteries need to be changed event though they may show a nearly full charge. Rechargeables can be charged , as they get oldet, but it is like trying to full up a sink with the plughole open. The charge goes in but does not really "TAKE". So as soon as you try to use them the phantom charge disappears. If you could renew the state of the internals to a new state they would charge again.
Get new batteries
