RCA LED HDTV SCREEN went black while watching tv. Still has sound.

Appears to be a power supply issue with everything being so dead.

Probably the power supply board went out or the backlighting.
Unlikely it's the control board as the sound is still working.

Don't open up the TV to fix it yourself if you don't know what you're doing. There are HAZARDOUS voltages inside EVEN WITH THE TV UNPLUGGED!!!.

Find a couple of shops, get quotes, try to find reviews of the shops too. If it's still under warranty, by all means contact the company to get it fixed.

sounds like a fly back problem
have a qulifyed tech check this out its high voltage leaking you are hearing.
esp if its a sqweek hiss sound.

If it is not a hardware problem, it is most likely the Closed Captioning system.
If you can still see the on-screen menu, go into your TV's menus and disable Closed Captioning.
