Yes there is a particular charger for this scooter, $200, the first thing is make sure your battery level has not dropped below combined level of 16 volts. next make sure your connection are very good. if you plug in the charger does the lights come on if so are there 2 lights or three. Three means it is really an old one, the new ones will work with it just fine. the lights must be on for it to work, if the key is on watch the dash meter, does it start going up when the charger is plugged in if it does then good for the charger but then the batteries may have internal problems. if nothing is on the meter. then tiller plug needs cleaning or on the nnewer ones the cable slid back a little. more info at Scooter Doctor App

Is there a particular battery charger for this vehicle? Can you use a car battery charger directly to the batteries?

Rascal 600T Mobility Scooter. Can you help me?

The chargers are expensive because they are a 24 volt, 4 Amp charger. These scooters use 2 x 12 volt batteries and provides power to one (or two) 24 volt motors. Disconnect the batteries and check the voltage of each battery and check the output voltage of the charger.

Rascal Scooter Charging Problem. If this doesn't work (make sure the outlet you are plugging into is working by plugging in a lamp or radio) then there appears to be a problem with the built-in charger and you should call the Rascal technical people for a new charger since they handle it directly and sell direct.............

Rascal 245. wont work. new batteries. i wired srtraight and motor works. power going to the box under seat but not out

The motor controller may be bad. If the battery charger is connected to the charge port , the scooter won't move even if the charger is not plugged into the wall.

How to change batteries in a Rascal

The Rascal 600/300, remove the seat, lift off the cover, unplug a battery, replace the old battery with a new one, putting the cable connections on the same way, red is +, black is -. Do the same with the next battery, reconnect the anderson plugs, reinstall the cover and seat and plug in the charger with the key on watch to see the needle raises up toward the full mark, allow to charge fully, overnight is good. keep the bats charged up not allowing them to drop below half way for the first 20 charges to break in the batteries. as a rule charge the scooter after every use!

My scooter will not fully charge

This could be the charger socket is worn and not making a good connection when charging or it could be the charger itself at fault. Now you have changed the batteries, I presume new and both the same type, you need to look at the charging side.
