Try a new battery. If that doesn't fix it, return it to Taylor under Warranty.

Check that the battery is in the correct way. Reset the machine after you check battery.

You did not give a model number but I assume that this digital scale is supposed to re-calibrate to zero every time. Follow Andrew Taylor's suggestion ... and if that does not work, the only things I can think of ... is recheck to make sure the new batteries were truly fresh (each has at least 1.5VDC). Then make sure the scale is on a nice totally flat surface (some tiled bathroom floors can cause the scale to not sit correctly which can impact the reading .. I had this problem with mine). Also double check that the display is on pounds and not kilograms ... but even 29 kilograms is only 60+ pounds...but worth a check to make sure.

I do not find any instructions for where to find the battery compartment on any WeighMax bathroom scale. Therefore, I suggest you contact WeighMax Technical Support and ask.
