Fault to its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Can I force HDMI on a sharp 50LE652E?

Yes, you can force the TV to display HDMI by accessing the input selection menu. Here's how to do it:
  1. Press the "Input" or "Source" button on your Sharp remote control. This should bring up the input selection menu on the screen.
  2. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to select "HDMI" as the input source.
  3. Press "OK" or "Enter" to confirm the selection.
  4. The TV should now display the HDMI input signal from your device.
If this doesn't work, you may need to check the HDMI cable and make sure it's connected properly. If the cable is damaged or faulty, it can cause issues with the HDMI signal.
Regarding the eeprom problem, it's not recommended to modify the TV's firmware or eeprom unless you're a qualified technician. If you suspect that the TV's firmware is causing the issue, you should contact Sharp customer support or a professional repair service for assistance.

I have a Sharp LCD COLOUR TV]MODEL LC-42XD1E I cannot get any channels.

Usually, the Menu options are limited if the current input is not set to the antenna. If you have the original remote, press the Input Source button on the remote (it's to the right of 0 and below 9). Use the up/down arrows to select your desired source. Press OK when this source is highlighted. Unfortunately the LC-42XD1E does not have an input button among the buttons on the top of the rear of the TV. (Similarly the on-screen Menu > Connections > Input Select sub-menu doesn't allow you to change to the TV input.) So if you do not have the original remote, you will need one that has a code (and button) that matches that command. Once you change the source, see if you can find the menu option for Setup or if the DTV menu button works.

The manual for the LC-42XD1E is available from Sharp: https://www.sharp.se/cps/rde/xbcr/documents/documents/om/11_lcd-tv/LC37-42XD1E_OM_GB.pdf . You can see the buttons for the TV shown on page 5 (page 7 of the PDF); the remote control buttons are shown on page 7. Selecting the correct Input is shown on page 10.

I hope this helps.

Sharp LC-50LE442U does not turn on. RED standby LED is lit, when I try to turn it on, the LED turns green but screen stays black. LED then stays green, won't go back to red when turning off.

You cannot tell if capacitors are bad just by looking at them. they need to have a meter called an ESR meter to test them, I can tell you with almost certainty that it is a capacitor in the power supply that has failed. The whole board is Sharp 9JY0950CTN02000 Power Supply Board (09-50CTN020-00) LC-50LE440U LC-50LE442U

My lcd's back light on off for three times and than go to stand by please tell me solution

Check and replace the back light inverter board. It is faulty. If you're sound in electronics, and wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

I have a sharp LC-37D40U that will not power on. The power light blinks 1 time every second. I held the input and volume - button while plugging the TV on and the TV cuts on and then cuts right back off,...

OK if you have blinking red light.

Try to open the cover then disconnect the inverter board after that try to power it on again..

If the light stays in blue (LIT) and of course you don't have picture or backlight you have faulty inverter board that need to be replace.

How to use a sharp aquos as a monitor with my laptop

Hi. You haven't said how you have connected your laptop to your TV so I'll give you a couple of options:

1. VGA to VGA (This cable is a 15-pin cable like the one you would use to connect a computer monitor to the back of the computer box itself). The Sharp has a VGA connection at the back.

2. DVI to HDMI. If your computer has a DVI output, this would be the best connection.

On your remote, press menu.
Use the left/right arrows to select option

Then use the arrow up and down to select input source.

Depending on the TV you have, you will either see the actual name of the connection (ie. HDMI, DVI, VGA) or you may need to select Input 1, Input 2, etc... depending on which connection you used. The input number may be labelled on the back of your TV.

If none of this works, please let me know your model numbers and I can provide you with instructions specific to your models.
