Re-check you have removed all of the screws as they sometimes have a extra ones positioned in a hidden and difficult places to get at or you need to remove another trim piece to release the panel you want to take off, possibly the knee panels on the tiller bar. The pot and key barrel will be mounted to the trim panel directly so won't be holding the trim down. The trim panel itself may be held in place with moulded clips so you may need to GENTLY lever along the seam between the panels to 'Pop' the panel loose.
Most scooters of that type have a speed pot that is held in place with a small nut. The plastic 'button' you twist to alter the speed setting is a 'push on' cover. It will be a tight fit but it should simply pull straight up and off revealing the small nut holding the pot in place.
Joyce,
Sounds like your gauge is disconnected or in need of replacement. you can remove the screws that hold the tiller cover on and check the connections. Beyond the connections issue you will probably need a tech to solve the issue. Scooter Doctor App
I've never worked on one, but I would remove the battery, and turn the scooter over to see if anything is accessible from underneath. The controller could've burned up. With battery out, check continuity to see where the open is. I doubt it has a computer, probably a just the control panel a speed varistor, and controllers. http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/victory9.html
There are several
the right hand tiller leaver is for adjusting the tiller pitch
the left hand tiller leaver is the hand brake - keep that lubricated and squirt a bit of wd40 down the inside of the brake cable if you can.
The leaver on the right of the seat post is the motor brake freewheel leaver, the seat leavers are for swivel, back pitch.
the tiller is the steering shaft, the long portion from the handlebars down to the
the tiller is the steering shaft that is located from the handlebars down to the wheels, it can usually be folded down to transport a scooter in a vehicle
about the only thing I can suggest is to make sure you have power out of the batteries going to the system. If you have a charger port located on the tiller take a digital volt meter and set it to 200 vdc and plug the leads into the two outter holes of the charger port with a full charge you should read 25-27 volts. If you don't have a reading at the port then there is a problem with the power getting to the tiller. It could be a bad cable Pride is notorious for developing problems in the cable going to the tiller. I would suggest you find a repair service to check the scooter for you. Maybe your provider (where you got the scooter) has a tech that can check it for you. I'm sorry I can't give you a definite answer but there are so many things that can affect a scooter: bad throttle, bad speed pot , bad cable, bad connections, bad batteries that its difficult to give you one answer that will fix your probelm Hope this helps you
The most likely source of the noise is your front wheel bearings or the front springs for the suspension. Each front wheel has an inner and outer wheel bearing which is sealed but can develop noise over time. If you can, block up the scooter and spin the wheel in the air. If you hear noise it is either a noisy bearing or you need to remove the wheel and grease the spindle (axle) the wheel is mounted to. The wheel bearings need to be punched out and replaced with the same size bearings from the manufacturer or a bearing store.
While the scooter is off the ground check the steering linkages and spray lubricate them. Also, lubricate the springs and anything else that moves or pivots. If the steering tiller squeaks at the head tube frame (steering column) upper or lower bearings you have a more technical repair. That involves loosening the lock-nuts for the steering column dropping the lower front frame assembly to either repack with grease or replace the bearings. You would also have tor remove the upper tiller assembly and get it aligned on reassembly.
You should be able to hear and isolate the noise once you have the front end blocked up off the ground. Hope this helps.
I have the same scooter first remove the front basket two screws there , two screws just opposite of those screws on the tiller shaft , also under the throttle there are four or five screws under it that need to be removed the screws are #2 phillps
