I have the battery plugged into the charger and both of the indicator lights are red.

Do the batteries charge? Are they charged? The green indicator normally is the status signal that the battery is charged and the red indicates that the battery needs charging or is charging. Hi, Ephraim. The flashing red light indicates that the device is showing "low battery". It could be that the LG phone charger fits the charging port on your bluetooth headset but it is not compatible with your device. In order for you to know that it is charging, the device should show a steady red light(means charging).

John the red flashing light indicates a low battery When you charge the battery your charger should be showing a red light for power and a yellow light. When the batteries are fully charged you should show a red and green light on the charger. Now if you have a voltmeter plug the leads into the two outter holes of the charger port located under the front of the joystick.Without the charger plugged in you will be reading the battery voltage. Fully charged it should read 27-30 volts if you are only reading 20-24 volts then the batteries are low. If you have an onboard charger plug it in and you should read the charger voltage of 29-32 + volts If you aren't getting that voltage then you have a bad charger if you are getting the charger voltage then you have bad batteries and they need to be replaced Hope this helps you

Charger flashing red indicates the battery is still not full and is in the process of recharging.
Red light steady indicates your battery is fully charged and ready to operate with your Coolpix 5000.
When red light is off it indicates there is no battery inserted or the charger is not pluged in.

check your battery and charger with a multimeter and make sure that they show at least 12 volts

I have heard of one other doing this. Either the charger or the battery is toast. If it's under warranty, call Humminbird.
If not, have a look around for a new battery or charger. They can be had at a good electronics store for not a bad price.
