Take the shower head off and replace it with another one take the shower head to home depot and tell them the problem and then they will be able to tell you how to install it if this doesn't help call the plumber of your choice before you have to pay a pricey water bill.

How do I fix a dripping shower head in a stand-alone shower? We have already tried to replace the valve assembly but it still leaks.

Obviously this is a leak in the valve. They are no fun to work on. Some of the higher end models of valve have seats that you can change and along with the ball and other hardware, that should stop the leak. If not you will have to replace the whole valve assembly.

Water leaking below shower

You may have a very small access panel on the front of the shower pan or through an access point in a cabinet on the backside of the shower wall. I have seen the shower tail piece get cut too short and as a result is becomes disconnected from the "P" trap under the shower.
