Julia,

Try this: go to Settings > Language & Input, then tap on the gear icon to the right of "Google Keyboard".

Tap on "Preferences", then make sure the box is checked which is right of "Voice Input Key".

After that your microphone icon should be back on the keyboard. :) Hope this helps!

Samsung Galaxy S GTI-9000: Accidentally caused the Floating Keyboard to appear, How to get it back to normal mode:

Hello. Don't worry you're not the only one that's done this before. It's really easy to fix

On the Samsung Keyboard there's a key on the left next to the space bar and "," comma key, the microphone.. inside that key above the microphone is 2 dots and a gear, that's a symbol for Settings.. We want to go there

1. To get to the options in grey above the Qwerty keys: Hold finger down on key: so for this one we're going to hold down on the microphone key..

2. After menu pops up, look to the right side of that menu bubble for the keyboard icon

3. Lift off finger and tap the keyboard icon

Success!

I have a new Alcatel one touch, Fierce 2 cell phone. I bought it last week. When I first used it, the phone had a microphone icon in the texting area. Now it's gone. How do I get it back so I can

If you good down the comma button the setting menu for the keyboard should pop up. If it does not it may not have the standard keyboard installed especially since you may have added an emoji keyboard. You can select the manufacturer default from the same menu by going to phone settings then keyboard. The last option would be to go to the Google playstore and download the keyboard put out by google. To do this do a search for google keyboard make sure that google is listed as the developer. Once downloaded and installed choose the keyboard from the settings, input, keyboard menu.

How do I fix my talk to text feature?

The "Cannot Connect" message indicates that your device is not able to access the internet, either through your cellular service provider (ie. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) or through a Wi-Fi router if you happened to be connected to one. You must have a data plan in order to gain access through your provider. Also check the settings on your phone to make sure you are connecting to a Wi-Fi if you happen to have access to one at home or work place.

How do I setup speech to text on my sanding captive cell phone

Hi,
Go into my text messages and use the android keyboard, there is a little microphone at the bottom of the keyboard to the left of the spacebar. It allows you to talk into the phone and it converts your speech to text.

You should have google voice installed.

You should also go into the settings on the phone, clicked on text to speech, then clicked on "install voice data."

Hope this helps.

I cannot say I'm certain of the keyboard model in question. However, one does not usually plug a microphone into a keyboard. Does it have built-in speakers?
BUT, assuming it is made to accept a microphone, there should be a "mic in" or "microphone input" jack on the keyboard. DO NOT plug into the MIDI jacks (if you find the right adapters). MIDI is a control protocol so keyboards and sound modules can "talk" to each other and one keyboard player can control multiple sounds from one keyboard.
