I cant get my dsi to play games with r4 card,,even had r4 card downloaded with new games

no different software save your games on your pc get new card then transfer the games

Nintendo is sending out updates constantly to try and stop its users from abusing flash cards like the R4. A recent update could brick your R4 card.

The new 3DS will be getting an update to sense if you've been using a flash card, and if it senses the card, Nintendo will send an update to brick your 3DS and render it unusable.

Hi, you have more or less diagnosed the problem yourself, what nintendo have done is in their latest update they have put some code in their that prevents you playing games from any back up system, now i shouldnt be even answering your post as we are not allowed to talk about modding consoles for obvious reasons so for that reason i am taking a risk their fore i can only point you in the right direction without giving to much details away.

what you need to do is use google and search for the following.

how to get r4 working again after update on dsi
how to downgrade the update on dsi to use r4
how to remove latest update on dsi to use r4 card

now searching for the above will get you up and running in no time, their should be some software out their you can put on the r4 card or you will need to downgrade your dsi to the old profile it was when the r4 card was working.

this problem is with all ds's dsi's and the wii's nintendo have managed to make some changes in their latest update that prevents r4 cards from playing any back up games.

im really sorry i cant give you to much info but if i did i would be kicked off the site as an expert so i have to be careful what info i give as it all gets checked and loads of experts have been banned from this site and others for giving info relating to modding consoles and also unlocking mobile phones so even though we may know the answer its just difficult for us to tell you without getting us banned so all i can do is point you in the right direction and with a bit of searching you should be able to get it sorted.
you do need to bare in mind though that nintendo will catch on to any modding and do their best to make no updates that prevent this, this update nintendo have sent out and the one thats causing you the problem was sent out just to prevent r4 cards from playing any backup games even if you own the original yourself.

the same goes for the xbox if you mod these your banned from xbox live, so no matter how quick you modd them if you install any updates the chances are it will prevent you from playing the games from the r4 card.

your lucky its not the wii as people who have installed homebrew on their wii to play backup gamed have found out now that if they have installed the latest the latest update from their website then they have found their wii's are scrap and are now only fit for the bin, so to prevent this happeing wii owners who have modded their wii can no longer go online without protecting themselves from updates.

Hi please let me know if you trying to play games via r4 card as the dsi has blocked this and you cant use r4 games you can only use it for music or pictures it wont let you play any r4 games as nintendo have banned it from working

let me know if the problem is not when you use r4 card but with original games also

hi my sons last dsi did apparntly when you update it it blocks the r4 card i tried all over cards and none would play either so i would'nt waste you'r money buying any more r4 cards unfortuntly.

cause DSI is the nintendos attempt to stop R4 card users! see the r4 and GnM cards made nintendo invest in a microsd slot! so try using that card with the dsi instead of the R4 as people now are hacking the micro sd slot to allow any ds rom to be played! faster then th R4 due to the fact that the micro sd is connected right to the motherboard of a ds game slot devices such as R4

download the file and follow instructions, you will need a non update DSi or a DS Lite to upgrade your R4. Never update until the cart markers have found a fix because all update will try block 3rd party contents
