Yes it's normal in most cases. There should be a knob to turn so it cycles on more often. If it's not a window unit, & is a free-standing unit, you might have to empty a water pan or tank on it. As condensation collects on the cooling coils, it collects in a container near the bottom. If it's full of water, it will cycle the cooling off until you empty the water container or some of the water in it evaporates.

In AC mode the cooler fan doesn't turn on and after a little while the warm air starts to blow instead of cold air. Any ideas

Sounds like a bad or stuck reversing valve. Typically r.vs. are energized in cooling, verify 24 volts to valve, if yes , bad valve

Old portable ac unit puts out cold air but not enough to cool a bedroom

Some portable ACs will suck in warm air from outside, making it hard to cool the room. The only fix is toget a machine with a balanced pair of ducts.

Using as heater and unit is blowing cold air

A heat pump is an air conditioner that reverses its refrigerant flow. In the cooling mode, the evaporator is cold to the room and its condenser is hot. In the heating mode, a valve reverses the refrigerant flow and makes the evaporator warm and the condenser cold.

Bought the cavalier had no ac/ but has great fan blowing it's just hot, defrost everything runs normal mulitiple speed////recharged w r134 blew ice cold almost 3 months went out again slowly. Stopped at...

I,t sounds like you had a leak, and pulled air into the system. This calls for professional servicing. Whenever there's a leak in a refrigeration system, air and sometimes other noncondensables get pulled into the system. They don't belong there. They cause heat and high pressure in the condenser, and will eventually destroy the compressor. The system needs dehydration and evacuation before charging. That's after all leaks have been repaired.

NewAir AC-14000E not blowing ice cold air

Unfortunately there can be several reasons for your AC-14000E portable air conditioner not cooling well. As with most portable air conditioners the filter grates on the rear of the unit can be removed for cleaning. When those are removed you may be able to clean some portion of condenser coils. There is also the possibility that your portable AC has a refrigerant leak in the system and will not be able to cool effectively without a repair (which usually costs as much as a new portable AC). Portable AC's are not designed to be recharged and operate on a sealed refrigerant line so even finding someone able to repair it may be a challenge. Your best bet is contacting the company you bought it from and talking through some solutions, they most likely have experience with these units and should be able to help you.

My AC is not cooling the air

Hello
Welcome to fixya.
I'm Huuum and happy to assist you,

You said, it is not blowing cool air after you emptied the tank.

Turn the unit off and unplug it for 5 minutes.............
Then back in with the plug and turn it on max cool.
Give it 5 or 10 minutes to get cold, and we will see if this procedure has reset the system.
Then get back to me and let me know it's working!

How old is the unit?

Please remember to leave a rating before you go!
Thank you Huuum
