This looks like the data sheet for it
http://www.datasheetarchive.com/dl/Scans-065/DSA2IH00178020.pdf
could be bf 554
the above is an rf transistor if it was a power transistor it might be
http://alltransistors.com/transistor.php?transistor=10521

Oother option is to buy a servive manual for the tv or ask samsung customer support in the hope they might help you with the part number.

SOURCE: i want to know the

You have to try in Google search.

If the transistor body is not damaged, you can read the type no. Replace it with identical No. Make sure the diodes and capacitors are not damaged. Check with multi- meter

We have 29inch TV. Horizontal transistor C6090 born out can we use TT2140 transistor

I don't know the answer but wanted to advise you, a transistor doesn't burn out for no reason. Often it is caused by an overload condition. In a dc coupled circuit the bias for a group of transistors is set by the components of the first stage in the group. A shift in the component values/voltages of the first stage can upset the whole group so the final high current stage begins to "cook" and will eventually fail.
When replacing a transistor it is essential the parameters aren't exceeded which means testing and adjusting component values taking into account the gain of each transistor.

What causes the horizontal transistor to short? flybak ok, supply line ok. my tv is a samsung with a model #: ct-21k30mh.

Hello
You just replace the capacitor fitted very near to the horizontal output transistor,[freewheeling capacitor], there may be one or two of them, whcih comes to a value of 3900pf to 6700pf 2000V or so. It is connected to the negative rail and the collector of the horizontal output transitor. If it gets opened, or its value gets reduced, this fault will occur. If so the transistor you replace will get shorted as you swich on the power to TV.
The second one is deflection yoke short. If so the transistor said above will overheat within seconds. Even a single winding inside the horizontal deflection yoke shors, it puts a tremendous load to flyback transformer, which in turn effects the transistor.
After replacing the above said capacitor, you do one thing to make sure about whether there is a short inside the yoke or not. It cannot be measured by normal methods. Fore that, unplug the base card from picture tube and place it somewhere near without getting any of its contacts to other parts inside your TV. This time only the EHT chord will be connected to picture tube. Unplug the horizontal yoke connection from main board. Switch on the tv, and wait for some time, say at about 10 seconds, and check whether the transistor gets overheated or not If it does overheats now also, the winding or EHT retifier diodes inside your flyback transformer has some trouble, and it should be replaced with same type and number. If it does not overheats now, the deflection yoke's winding have some short in it. Ok.
NB: Never connect the TV with base card is in postion while deflection yoke connection is isolated. keep it unpluged.

My tuner on my old samsung tv broke off. The part that the cable box plugs into. Can I replace the tuner with a new one. It's a Samsung type no A48krd82x. If I can replace the whole tuner unit...

You can replace the whole tuner if you are proficient with soldering. I would try PartStore.com first and you usually order by model number here. If the model is listed you can scroll through the parts available to see if the tuner is shown. I have worked with them and have had very good service and fair prices. Good luck.

sounds like screnn is faulty, hair line crack will do this - if still on warranty send it back-or some hse.insur. will cover the cost of a new t.v. to the same value.

Humming noise when turned on

Annebatiste:
Humming almost always comes from DC supply problems.A leaky SCR [silicon control recitfiter] transistor [used in a/c to dc power supply], leaky Capacitor [large metal type for heavy voltage\current], bad or value changed bias for SCR transistor, value changed filter resistor and loose transformer[Xformer] that the coils INSIDE vibrate sending a radio frequency [R\F] SIGNAL (like a radio station) into the audio amp section or right into the speakers causing the hum.
Check entire power supply, all filter capacitors, coils, chokes ,transformers (somtimes used to push signal into speakers)

Resistor don't normally burn out with help, say, without a failing flyback transformer and possibly taking a transistor or two with it. If you need the manual, go to http://www.samswebsite.com/photofact/pf_search.asp and type in "F31317" into the search field, you will several listings.
