Where is the heating element located on Frigidaire FEX831FOS

  • Larry Atkinson Jul 07, 2015

To Andrew. Located the element all is good there but needed to be cleaned out anyway. I suspect my problem lies with the points on the motor switch. Thank you very much. Have a blessed day.

Frigidaire Electrolux GLER331AS2Is Dryer. Is it possible to replace JUST the heating element and not the whole Dryer Heating Element Assembly?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks.

No, not normally, it comes as a unit and this is standard procedure. If it is failing in three years, you have an airflow issue which is causing overheating.

Both heating elements in the oven not working. I did inspect the h. elements found no burn. thankyou help

Ok, you can confirm element failuer by testing for continuity with a Ohm meter. A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

You can usually tell when the element itself burns out. It might have small holes or bubbles on the coil. Replace the element, if found defective.

Another reason, why the elements would not start, might be a defective infinite switch (located behind the control panel, with the burner knob on its shaft). Replace the switch if found defective.

If the elements show continuity, you will need to replace the entire control board(clock, EOC)..

Changing heating element on a frigidaire dyer

If you dryer lint screen is located at the top of your dryer your heating element is going to located at the rear of your dryer. You will need to remove the back of the dryer to get to it. You will see a housing and the element is located in there. If you lint screen is located in the door when you open the door then your heating element is located in the front. This one is easier to get to. Simply remove the bottom panel under the door and you will see the heating element right at the front on the right hand side. Make sure you unplug the dryer before working on it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and also please let me know if this was helpful for you. Good luck and glad to help.
