I was wondering if someone could help me find which board could be bad on a Samsung PN59D8000FFXZA plasma TV.

What do you mean by clicks? Plasma televisions are hot cathode ray, there is thermal expansion that takes place due to heat.

When it get hit with any surge usually the main Board is gone, to replace it and hope nothing else is wrong, you can get a 4k LED for probably same price

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be on a separate board, or on the part of its main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Yes the caps on theower supply, but you can check power supply board by smell an look for burnt parts it is common. May need more than one board if they are cheap get both.

does the smell smell like fish?

if so then one of the pcbs has burnt out and when you switch it on it keeps on shorting out

do you have a local tv repairer in your area? he/she may be able to save the board if its not to badly damaged but i wouldnt count on it

to best honest i would scrap it and get another one

It can be the power supply board or the Y or Z Sustain boards have burnt up. It will not be an easy repair. You need to look inside.
You should read one of the SAMSUNG Plasma TV training manual to get some understanding how Plasma TV works.

Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

IF YOU WERE FACING THE TV FOR UPPER RIGHT YOU MAY A PROBLEM WITH YOUR UPPER Y BUFFER BOARD OR Y BOARD IF YOUR Y BOARD NIS DEFECT YOU MUST ALSO REPLACE YOUR TWO BUFFER BOARDS .

Ur backlight video inverter board it totally burn PCB,must be replace,might have to check for other boards ,because major burned.
