I had the same issue. You can use the on screen volume buttons on screen to stop issue and don't use the physical buttons anymore. Watch out about a month after the volume problem started all physical buttons on my DXN7120 stopped working. There are a few reports of this online, I have not found a fix yet.

Check the manual for "Volume offset" at the input mode. I'll pull the pdf on the unit, If I find it, I will send the instructions. Hope this helps
