How do i hook up my H.264 4ch DVR to my computer directly my router has upnp enabled

If you want to hook up the PC to play media, I suggest you install software called Plex for free (plex.tv). The Roku has the Plex app so you can play through the Roku or most smart TVs, Amazon Fire, or directly via an HDMI cable from your PC to the TV. It will automatically sort your media once you go through the setup and it is probably the best variant of the KODI/XBMC media systems out there for all platforms.
If you want to record from your DVR to your PC, that gets more complicated. The HDMI cord usually has certain protocols that keep you from recording copyrighted programs DMAC (Digital Media Access Control) so you'll need a video input card that has RCA inputs for red/green/blue or a yellow video input and either a red/white RCA input for sound or an SPDIF Infrared (IR) sound cable and use the software that comes with the tuner card.

How do I hook my data projector up to my cable TV?

If the TV offers video and audio outputs, you can connect those to the projector. Otherwise you'll need to use a VCR or DVR as the source. In fact, you don't need a TV set at all if the VCR/DVR you use has TV tuning. Hook the video to the projector, run the audio through your stereo system and you're set.

Connecting my router to my Directv DVR

If you are using an AT&T supplied 2-Wire router - then I have the same setup.
It does work.
First you can check to see if DHCP is doing the job.
Go to your router address:
(something like 192.168.1.254:5000) < they should have given you this on install)
Look at your network and see if the DVR is there.
If so, note the address.
Now go to setup on DVR and see if it has the same address.

If not...
You don't need to change the router to static, but it helps to change the DirecTV dvr to static.
I have the HR-20.
Give an address in the range of those leased by the router.
192.168.2.166 or something.
Make sure your first 3 octects match your router ie: 192.16.1
Just go to setup on the DVR and change it to the hard IP address.
If the router is not uPnP (2-Wire is not), then you may have to open a port or tow to get DirecTV VOD to work (maybe not or I don't remember which ones, googe it.)
The IP Mask should be 255.255.255.0.

Open the screen with the button below the lower DIrection Switch.
It is the you go for
'Find SHows'
"manage Recordings"

If you see a new entry entitled "Pictures, Vedeos and more" then you are online.
If not --- google some more.
