First to get rid of any virus consider running Combofix.exe first witch you can get from www.bleepingcomputers.com.

Have use this for many years and has proven very very effective. From xp to winodws 8.1

Next Always run at least two anti-spyware programs as to clean you computer, including the browsers.

Next run ccleaner.exe, you can get this from majorgeeks.com , to clean up the trash left behind.

Then either update your anti-virus or install a anti-virus. You can see some of them and have them INSTALLED over at www.ninite.com

If you unable to do any of this because it is too infected then use a live boot cd like Hirams live boot cd to clean you computer.

Good Luck.

Why am I getting recurrent 'Unfortunately Google search has stopped' messages?

This is very likely related to another app on your device that's not behaving. If you can recall what other apps you've installed recently I'd take that new one off and restart the phone. If you're still having trouble try using an antivirus for your phone. I recommend Avast. It's free and runs well.

Error

Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS ( operating system) . So open the internet options in the browser and clean all the cookies, temporary internet files, defragment the drives and RESTORE the PC to an earlier set date.

You can use a registry cleaner like Advanced system care. Download from the site and check you system for corrupt files. Also use a good antivirus software which is active to keep your system performing without an attack on the OS. Remove all unnecessary programs installed which you do not use all the time and clean up the drives. This will free up the space and make your system faster.
If there is no response but the PC tends to work slower and occasionally hanging when a program is being executed then you might have to install the OS once again. Install the OS and then an antivirus before the drivers of the PC is installed.

My Dell laptop running Vista Home Premium has become very slow. The tech says my "microsoft security layer" has expired and needs to be renewed. As a result there are infected files. Is this...

Microsoft security is an antivirus program. Yes, if the antivirus has expired it no longer protects the pc and it has became infected. No, it's not part of Windows, of any one of them. What you had it installed when you purchased was an reduced functionality one that was offered with a rebate and the licence for it has expired after an year.
Since the system is now fully infected you must uninstall the expired antivirus and install a new one. This one is free for home use

Uninstalling problem of antivirus software

First.. install a different antivirus program while you are fixing this installation. Try microsoft security essentials or AVG.
Then.
Check your program files folder for any mention of Avast, and delete it.
Run a search for avast and delete anything you find.
Download a registry cleaner, I use CC Cleaner.
Run the cleaner and remove all the files it finds, run the registry cleaner and let it delete all the problems it finds .
IF you want to try with avast again, uninstall the other antivirus program you may have installed. then try with the Avast again

Cannot coonect SCANNER (HP Officejet 6500 wireless) to my Windows

I have seen alot of problem/posts concerning HP AIO's and software issues. Typically some of the functions won't work or not recognized by solution center. Try a complete uninstall of all associated printer software, run registry cleaner if you have it, restart, then try completely uninstalling your Antivirus/firewall software. I have seen that just disabling Antivirus/firewall still causes faulty installations. Now, reinstall your printer software/drivers and connect cables only when told to do so. Some reason the AV/FW software blocks some of the AIO's apps from completely installing.

Hope this works...Good Luck!
