Why does the washer stay in the wash cycle?

Washer fills then goes into wash cycle and stays there. It will not move into next cycle. When I open door and bypass switch to watch the cycle it appears to agitate but I can hold the agitator and move it freely. I can place it in another cycle and it will work in that cycle but it will stay in that cycle.

SOURCE: Washer fills and spins but does not agitate

Im sorry to say, it sounds like the transmission in the washer may have gone out, the unit it self sits at the bottem of the main agitator shaft under the the tub, you may be able to have this replaced, but shop around for the right price.

SOURCE: Washer doesn't agitate

sounds like your washer went mellow on you(doesn't get agitated, right)?

ok. enough humor.

sounds like there's a problem with the motor/belt/control board in that order

SOURCE: Agitation issues. Everything else appears/works normally.

I just encountered the same problem. I think the operation of the machine is such that the motor turns one direction for the spin cycle, and the other direction for the agitate cycle. I am replacing my motor, as I think i have a bad winding on the reverse. I will let you know.

My washer will not switch from one cycle to the next

I understand that your washer is not advancing and stuck on one cycle. If you provide a Model and serial number, it will be helpful.

The washer tub is bonceing all over

Its out of balance you need to even disperse the weight of clothes based on how wet they will be when the washer goes into the spin cycle. The solution is to open the washer and move items in the washer to the spin cycle stays level.

How do I get rid of the black stuff in the door seal?

Use a bleach and water solution 50/50 and apply liberally. Place 1 cup of bleach in the washer tub, and fill all of the dispenser cups with bleach. Run the hottest wash-rinse cycle that you have; for us, it is the sanitary cycle. Follow that cycle with a normal cycle to flush out any residual bleach. Leave the door cracked open when the washer is not in use. The moisture that stays in the washer is one of the most common reasons for mold to begin growing in the washer. Allowing it to air dry helps keep it from happening.

I have a two-year old Frigidaire GLTF2940FSO front loader washer that has stopped in the middle of a load leaving water in the drum and will produce a buzzing sound no matter what cycle you put it on. We...

did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in to see if you can get it to reset? Would it buzz when you try to drain it? Does the door latch lock when it goes into the wash cycle? Usually the door latch locks when it goes into the wash cycle and stays locked. So it filled up, the door latch should lock, then should go into wash cycle. Then you said few minutes later it stops. How did you get the door open? reason i ask is Usually i would see the clothes get stuck inside the washer because the door latch is still locked when it stops. Was the door unlocked when it stoped. If so maybe something going on with the communication from the board to the door latch maybe. Did you try operatin the drain?
