8 flash code is typically a controller fault and there are about 12 sub codes that goes along with that flash code. More than likely you will have to replace the controller.

I would look at the freewheel lever. Disengage and then engage the freewheel and see if this corrects the problem. If not, you may have a bad freewheel switch.

The problem is that although it is physically in neutral, the safety switch for indicating it is in neutral is not working correctly. It could be the switch itself or the wire(s) from the switch. Get a manual and see if you can trace the wires from the neutral switch.

According with the manual...

LED Flashes 7 times means a Throttle fault. Engager levers must be in neutral (centered) position before venicle is turned on. Paddle fault and speed pot fault. Switch vehicle off center levers and switch back on.

I suggest contact the technical service supoort to solve it.

terry, did you replace both batteries? If you did check your wiring connections on the batteries. Make sure that the polarity of the wiring is correct( red to positive and black to negative) and if you replaced just one battery then you have to replace the other one also. Once you have 2 new batteries installed and have made sure the wiring is correct. Turn on the scooter and see if you still get the flashing lights look at your manual and see that the 3 flashes mean a short between the batteries and the motor. If you continue to get the error you will have to contact your local provider or a service company to check the scooter.. Hope this helps

Plamont unfortunately that flash code usually means a controller error. The controller is the brains of your scooter. Take the seat off and remove the rear shroud that covers the batteries and motor/gearbox assembly. Check all the wiring connectors for damage or loose connections. After checking the connectors turn the scooter on and see if you still get 8 flashes.
