My John Deere 8330 will jump out of gear sporadically. It throws the codes PTP 524271.05 and PTP 523953.02. The transmission is engaged and the motor is running. It happens in all gears (not just 6 and 7).

Try adjusting the linkage on the shifter the shifter may not be adjusted properly so the gears are not being fully engaged ,extend the linkage at least an inch or two (lengthen it)

How old is the battery, and is it in good condition?
SOURCE: it is a 1993 john deere 6100. there are 3 forwards
The shifters do run cables to the transmission but you likely only need to remove the panel from the right side that covers the shift rods and then you can tighten the 13mm nut that brings the linkage rods together, the nut is on the shift lever not the range lever,Let me know how you make out and if i am wrong also let me know and i will dig deeper.

sounds like the safety switch under the seat may be bad. unhook and / or bypass the switch. if this fixes the problem then replace the switch. hope this helps you
