No fuel flow from tank to engine on Husqvarna YTH2348

Fuel slow stops after running engine for a short period

  • Jon T Schenk Jun 22, 2015

Loosening the gas cap did help. Will try running it longer this way. Thanks.

  • Jon T Schenk Jun 22, 2015

I've changed the fuel lines from the tank to the fuel pump. The fuel pump is new as is the fuel filter. The gas cap seems suspect as the engine stalling quit when I loosened the cap. Caps not sold in Wichita. Will order one and try it out. Thanks...John

Try changing the fuel line as there has been a few cases where the inter liner of the fuel line on the carb complaint systems collapsing causing this problem.
Also check fuel cap rubber seal if it has deteriorated and parts of it may be blocking fuel flow from the tank. An additional thing to try is leave the ful cap loose to if it is venting problem.

Fuel cap appears to be problem. System down till I can replace fuel tank which I broke while working on the unit. Tank on order.

Thanks, leaving the fuel cap loose appears to shown the cap to be the problem.

Here are a few tips to look at, I would first check your inline fuel filter to make sure its not clogged up. See Page 26 of the Manual for additional help.

It runs for 10 seconds then stops

Sounds like fuel starvation try each of the following, test to see if it runs after each.
1. Check you have fuel.
2. Check/replace the fuel filter.
3. Check the fuel lines.
4 Clean the carburettor

Chainsaw stops running

When it starts to die slacken off the fuel cap enough to allow air into the tank, if it picks up again it is an issue with the fuel tank breather, if the breather is blocked it will create a vacume in the tank and stop fuel flow to the carb.

I have a 450, and I would like to increase my bar oil output. Where is the adjustment screw? Please!

There is no adjuster for the Husqvarna 450. Husqvarna recommend that if there's not enough oil reaching the bar that you slow down the engine by adjusting the carburettor screw. I have the same saw and also wanted to adjust the oil flow. I didn't change the carburettor and it's still cutting away without doing any damage. It's meant to use less than a tank full of oil to the tank full of fuel when you're cutting near constantly. With stops in between it will use more fuel and less oil.

Mine was doing the same thing. Just loosen the gas cap. If its on too tight the engine will stall because the air cant get into the fuel cell to replace the abscent fuel.
