Our AL-800 sometimes prints an all black page, eventually stops with an E-7 code. I tried the fix where you alternate Clear and Exposure buttons and code in 14 - had no effect. Any ideas what this code means or what I have to replace? Thanks.

E7 has a sub code number. Just press the print key and see what is the sub code that will be displayed. Will get back to you if you can give this information.
The E7 code is related to the laser and or the distinction between black and white being read/interpreted by the system. There should be a sub code which will point more directly to the problem. The laser could be bad or the glass and mirrors need cleaning. Remove the glass (with the copier unplugged) and clean including the white strip underneath, clean mirrors too.
