You need a crankshaft puller which grabs the pulley and center bolt pushes on the crank to remove it.

Reinstallation of harmonic balancer

you can line it up as good as you can with a dead blow hammer. make sure there is a small amount of oil on the inside of the balancer surface. then install the crank bolt and slowly zip it down with an impact wrench.

Can I put a turbo in to my 1996 mitsubishi eclipse rs???

Im going to guess that you have the 420A engine 2.0L 4cyl non-turbo engine. They make the turbos for your car for the ones that come with a stock turbo that means that yes you can add a turbo. BUT it also means thats not the only thing your going to have to do to it. Better heads for the heat and power, bigger exhaust, FINE tuning so you dont blow your engine. It will eventually get pretty pricey, i recommend trading for a model with a stock turbo since adding a bigger faster turbo is a much easier and cheaper process.

I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS non turbo and the power steering belt constantly tears. It will last anywhere between a few hours to a few weeks and then just tear.

You will probably need to realign the pulleys. It sounds like one of them might be out too much. Try taking a straight edge of some sort on the power steering pump and see if it is aligned with the other pulleys. Good luck!

How to remove crankcase pulley from 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Its just one bolt in the center. there is usually i panel in the wheel well that you can take off to get to it real easy. I always use a repair manual from autozone. it tells you what to do step by step.

Motor swap

If your planing on swaping the 2.0 non-turbo(420a) to the 2.0 turbo(4g63t) your problem will be that the motor and transmission are on opposite side of one another. My GST has the trans on the passenger side and the motor on the driver. The 420a is just the opposite. If your serious about it you should get the motor rebuilt with higher performance crank, pistons, rods, exc.  And they make turbo kits for the 420a.  But you'll need better fuel delivery and some mild tuning.
