No disk error in an almsot brand new naxa portable dvd player

Need help fixing a no disk error. The DVD player has been cleaned but that has not helped. When opened the dvd seems to not spin well and when I help push the spinner with no dvd it spins fine. I also checked the ums that is supplying the strength and its at about 2.75 not sure where adjustment screw is if that needs adjusting.

Hi Heather Robertson, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Such as what a "ums" is and what units the "2.75" is being measured in and where? Also, is this with factory DVD's or DVD-R's that someone else has recorded?

it was the reading I got with a digital multimeter 2.75 ohms on the laser apparatus. This is with any kind of DVD I have tried to play.

SOURCE: hard to get dvd player to work

How old is the set? As the player's laser ages it becomes harder for it to read discs. Audio CD's don't have as much data and are formatted differently from DVD's so they are easier to read. This is one possible cause. Hope this helps!

Won't format new DVD-RW disks

i did everyting today to fix this. bought new dvds, name brands different, tried finding codes, called the number. trust me. try this. clean it. thats All i did. cleaned it with a dvd cd cleaning disc, the one with two little brushes on it, nothing special, ran it until i heard the beep, popped my dvd in, they all worked. everyone, im still recording. i ran it about four times. now, if you tried to burn a dvd, and got the error, throw that dvd away. because i tried about ten dvds. after i fixed it, THOSE dvds were no longer usable. dont know why. hope this works.

Error: Bad disk

If you are using original discs and have the problem. Try with a cleaning disc and is still the same, check for calibrating the optic lens. About how much is the replace or the calibrating you have to ask on the repair shop or manuf. website. Sometimes, is better buy a new one because the technology moves so fast it makes the same technology disposable.

VCR Error Code H002

On my DVD-LV50, I was able to re-initialize and fix a different error (error code H05). It might work for you, too.

With no disk in the player, press and hold these buttons for 4 seconds:
  1. Back skip -- [ |<< ]
  2. Pause -- [ || ]
  3. Play -- [ > ]
The screen will go blank, then say "Initialized."

After that, it worked like new.

I hope that helps.

DVD player issues

Most likely the dvd is dirty, scratched, or chipped. Try cleaning the dvd disk with a soft cloth (chamois works best). Look at the surface of the disk and if it is scratched lightly, dust and dirt particles, fingerprints, etc will cause refractions from the laser light in the dvd player, which is then read as an error by the dvd player. Cleaning it with a soft cloth will sometimes help.

If that does not work, hold the disk up towards a light source and look for light coming through from the other side. If this happens, the disk is unreadable and unrepairable as the data source has been corrupted.
