Did you by chance make a startup disc or have the setup disc.
Sorry all is lost, you will have start from scratch and reinstall, loosing all you had on main HHD. hopefully you will have made backups of important files to copy over when reloaded new setup.?
If the tou8chpad is acting up, you can disable it and just use a mouse. Sometimes just typing will cause a pointer to jump to a different location because of the mousepad membrane bouncing.
I always recommend popping out the CMOS battery and then putting it back in. This resets all of the settings in the BIOS including the password. In the case of a laptop it can be a bit of work to open it, locate the battery and perform this but it is much less risky than uses the software that is available to crack the BIOS password and then remove it.
