Immediately-within one second-push the MENU button on your remote. You should see a User Settings menu screen displayed. Use the arrows keys on the remote to highlight the Closed Caption option and press OK or SELECT on your remote to toggle Enable/Disable. Power on the Set-Top Box to return to watching TV.
Jun 25, 2012 - Turn STB off and leave TV on; Press Menu on STB or remote control; Using the ... If this does not activate Closed Captioning, try the following:.
Usually, it turns off automatically after you close de lid , it´s a switch that works with the open/close movement of the lid. Sometimes it can be clogged with some dirt and not work properly, check first if it turns off after closing de lid all the way, also check when the vehicle is closed by the key if it´s still on.
theres a way to close it by taking off the panel above that covers the motor and putting a allen wrench into the middle of the motor unit and turning it i think clockwise. If the gears are stripped it wont work...but if its just the motor then manually turning the gear should close it. I figured out which way it needed to be turned to close then put a allen attachment on my cordless drill and made it easier cause it will take awhile
With our VIP receiver models, you have an option to turn on/off closed caption through the receiver. Press the Menu button on the remote, which will display the Main Menu on the TV screen. Press 8 (Preferences) and then press 6 (Closed Caption). On the Closed Caption screen, press 1. On the Closed Caption On/Off screen, select CC Off and then press Done from the TV screen (using your DISH remote). This will turn the feature off on the receiver. Test to see if it is turned off by watching a program that has CC. If it still appears, then the feature is activated through your TV. Please refer to your TV manual to turn the feature off. I hope this helps.
Check the tv remote for a button that said CC.Used this CC button turn all CC1.2.3 ...to off. These will stop all the tv close captioning functions.Or check the tv Menu goto Close Captioning 1,2,3..close all to off, turn off all the text 1,2,3...to all off too.
With the trunk open try putting the key in and turning so that the latch swings open. This may be the problem. The latch may be stuck closed. with the key turned make sure the latch is open if it is not then take a scrwedriver and pry on the latch with the key turned to open it. Then try to close the trunk. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer. thanks.
The problem was with the Motorfolla Comcast cable box not my T.V. . I turned off my Comcast cable box, pressed menu on the remote to the cable box. This made a 16:9 ratio appear on the cable box's LED read out, and a bluish screen appear on my television. One of the options on my television was to turn on and off closed captioning. Therfore, I turned off closed captioning and the problem was solved.
meknow is right I think. To turn off your closed captioning hopefully all you need to do is get into the setup menu. You didn't list what kind of TV you have so this is a generic solution. Go into menu and in a setup menu there will be a closed captioning way to select to turn the box off.
The reason sometimes you see it and sometimes you don't is because some programs have closed cationing and some don't.
And because you are only seeing a blank box and not closed captioning is because there are different closed captioning standards. CC1, CC2, etc.
So if you can find the menu item that allows you to turn off the closed captioning, it would be a good start to solving your problem.

If you have the Suddenlink remote and the DVR box you can turn captions on or off by accessing a technical menu. To do this, press POWER and Menu buttons together (menu 2 times) to bring up a special menu. Select Closed Captions. On the popup menu select closed captions and using Select button change to OFF or ON as you wish. The trick is to get the menu to come up. Timing of pressing the two buttons is frustrating and it may take a few times befotre you get the special menu.
