Transport bolts left in on first spin cycle very briefly

It will be fine. The transit bolts are there to protect the springs and dampers from stretching if the machine is tilted or laid on its back during shipping to the seller and delivery to the home.

In use with the transit bolts removed it allow the springs, the shock absorber and the big concrete block to absorb movement as the spin evens out the balance of the clothes with the first part of the spin. It also stops the machine walking across the floor as all of the movement is transferred to to case and feet.

It will be fine, I have done it myself after I moved from one house to another and then didn't do any washing for a week or two.

Enjoy your new machine. Finally, just for fun

Just installed front load machine vibrates all over floor when spinning

The washtub of a front loader is suspended on fairly soft springs that should absorb the out-of-balance forces generated during the spin cycle.

During transportation the innards of the machine can receive quite a shaking and so temporary brackets (transit brackets) are fitted inside to hold everything steady and prevent damage.

It is an essential part of installation to remove the cabinet top and remove the transit brackets, saving them safely for future use. Perhaps that part of the installation was forgotten?

If the transit brackets have been removed, your new machine is probably a dud...

Hi. I used my washing machine with the transit bolts still in place as there were no obvious instructions saying to remove them. I stopped it after at most 2-3 minutes though. WIll it be damaged or will it...

The transit bolts are there to stop the drum banging about and denting the chasis when it's being transported. Provided that you haven't run it through a rough spin cycle then the chances are that there is no damage whatsoever. You're not the first or last person to do this. Don't panic, it will be fine :-)

Excessive vibrations on spin(transit bolts)

you must remove these transit bolts . after you do try it . of course the legs of the washer must be set to make the machine levl. and then make sure the lock nuts on each leg are tightened. with a level machine with the leg locknuts tight the machine should spin smoothly. if you fasled to remove the transit bolts first then you may have damaged the suspension. then you will have to call for professional service. good luck

I left the transit bolts in our "brand new" zanussi washing machine and am afraid to use it as I do not know what damage might have been done.

Highly unlikely any damage will have been done so long as it hasnt been in use for a long time (weeks).

In a front loading washing machine, most of the mechanicals inside are held between springs at the top and dampers at the bottom. The transit bolts are used to minimse how much movement can ocour whilst the machine is in transit as excessive movement could damage the springs/dampers. When they are removed, normal movement of the mechanicals helps keep the machine stable and minmises vibration.

So, the worst that happens when the machine is used with the transit bolts in place is it vibrates alot, and possible moves about.

Remove the bolts as soon as possible and it should be fine.

Forgot to remove shippping bolts before using machine.

I would take out the shipping bolts and then run a prgram such as Spin.with no clothes in

If that sounds ok, wet a few towels and spin them dry

If that works put a full load in and go for it

Unless your machine was way out of balance you should not really have damaged anything.

The transit bolts are there to stop the drum from banging around during transit and unless they have torn free or have bent you should be ok

Transit brackets

Hiya .. the transit bolts are located under the lid at either side ..or at the rear... they are fairly long bolts which hold the drum and balance in place.. until installation. they will be sheathed in fairly hefty rubber grommets.

Screws for removal of lid located at the rear..2- or 4.. remove these slide lid front to back.. remove bolts if they are they are present... refit lid... note uneven siting of an appliance can cause excessive vibration as well!

Let me know if this sorts your prob
