My washing machine won't spin when in a wash cycle but will spin on a spin cycle

It's filling up with water and will spin with the wash for 2/3 mins it will then sit there till the program reaches the spin cycle and spins fine on the spin cycle. No problems with water draining ect no lights flashing seems to be stuck any ideas?

Typical control board issue. If heating is okay, if draining is okay. Aka your machine works fine. If the ONLY problem you have is the spin cyckle it is a issue with the control board. You can not change this yourself. It has to be programmed with a smart card writer. Does the machine display any errorcodes? (LED blink codes)

SOURCE: stuck in wash cycle

check if heating by putting on as hot wash and feeling the door. if no heat, check continuity thro the heater - modern heaters have a non-resettable cut-out in them which can cause problems. no heat then no program advance

SOURCE: Hotpoint WT540 1400 spin Washing Machine stuck on cycle

Could be a sticking water level switch, which controls the water level, or a blockage in the hose to the switch, or a trapped or split hose to the switch. the hose in question is about 6mm in diam, and goes from the sump hose to the pressure switch,if u remove the hose from the preesure switch chamber, check for a blockage there, and blow down the hose to see if it is clear, u should hear the switch click if it is clear, if no click and hose is clear, then I wud say the switch is faulty.
Plz rate my comments.
Thanks

SOURCE: WMA54 Hotpoint Aquarius drum does not turn during wash or spin

sound like the contact points on the timer are probebly dirty or arched to where they are not making good contact. you can take and clean them with a piece of emery cloth if you are mechanically inclined and can take the timer apart. Also there's a set of contacts down by the motor ti check too.
Good Luck,

SOURCE: I have the hotpoint BWM129 super silent 1200 spin,

The flashing lights means that an error had been detected.

The machine must be unplugged from main to check the drain hose and the drain pump.
The most common is that the drain pump is clogged with debris and must be unlocked.

Washer won t fill water

pipes maybe clear but is your area wher you live prone to limescaling? where the water pipe/pipes go into the machine there is a switch to shut on/off the flow of water during whatever cycle you want.this might be blocked or sticking. first try to select different cycles and see if any of those fills the machine with water. if no water comes its one of two things. that switch is faulty or communication between the switch and the front consule is at fault.
contact your supplier after trying to go thru a few different cycles.

Beko WMP652W washing machine will start cycle but get stuck at end of wash, doesnt go onto rinse or spin any help please?

see the next steps and use the common sense: God bless you
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Hi just read your posting. Now select hot fill, high water level, and put 2 pkts of bicarb of soda in the empty tub.Start the cycle and let it fill and then let the machine wash for 5 to 10 mins.Do not let the water drain out. After 5 to 10 mins stop the cycle and let the water and bicarb soak over night. In the morning restart machine and this should clean the bowl. Please reply on how you got on or for further help.Looking forward to your reply.

Kenmore Series 90 washing machine, won't start cycle

First, see the Sears Parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.26912691&pathTaken=partSearch

Next, see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service manual for top load, direct drive washers:

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

I hate to say it but it sounds like a Timer problem.

I'd use the troubleshooting section of the Service Manual and the timer testing procedures to confirm the problem.

Note that there are two types of timers with different procedures to remove them.

Also see the following for how to release the console for access to the timer and other controls.
