Found this on a Korg User forum, seems like what you're looking for:

The following procedure will reset your Pa800 keyboard to a known working state, without loss of user styles and sounds:

a) Save favorite styles and user styles into UserStyle.SET folders (MEDIA -> Save)

b) Save user sounds into UserSound.SET folders (MEDIA -> Save)

c) Reformat the SSD memory chip (wipes all user data) ... read the installation notes!

d) Load OS2.01 and MR2.01, which can be done in a single operation as follows ... read the installation notes!
e) Load the user sounds from UserStyle.SET folders (MEDIA -> Load)

f) Load the user styles from UserSound.SET folders (MEDIA -> Load)

NOTE 1: Do not use Korg's backup procedure using .BKP files. Many people have had problems because there is no effective mechanism when restoring from a .BKP file that avoids overwriting Korg's latest factory Musical Resources.

NOTE 2: Never overwrite Korg factory styles and sounds. This is because there is no effective way at the moment of saving and restoring your work in the event that a Korg Musical Resources update is issued in the future. Instead save any changes to styles in a Favorites bank, and save any changes to sounds in a User bank.

NOTE 3: Never load a .SET file containing someone else's GLOBAL or SONGBOOK subfolders. At best you will delete your own settings. At worst you will corrupt the memory of the Pa keyboard and things will stop working - then you will have to do the above "reset" procedure all over again to fix it.

Hope this helps!

Yamaha dx7 new battery. Presets re-loaded - a couple work, the rest not. Any ideas?

There could be a few possible causes for this issue with your Yamaha DX7 synthesizer. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the connections: Make sure all connections between the battery, the synth, and any external devices are secure and in good working condition.
  2. Re-initialize the synth: You can try re-initializing the synth by pressing and holding the "Data Entry/Memory" button while turning on the power. This will reset the synth to its default settings and may fix any issues with the presets.
  3. Check the synth's memory: If the synth's memory is full or damaged, this could cause problems with the presets. You can try clearing the memory by pressing and holding the "Data Entry/Memory" button while turning on the power, then selecting the "Erase Memory" option when prompted.
  4. Check the synth's firmware: It's possible that the synth's firmware could be causing issues with the presets. You can try updating the firmware to see if that resolves the problem.

I have a Roland xp60 that produces no sound! Everything else seems to be fine - the display registers that I am hitting the keys & even the skip-back sampling feature produces a wav file I can see on...

Two things come to mind: 1. These synths have mute and output control settings. Verify they are correct as even a factory reset might not set them to default. 2. The next thing is that the volume control itself is damaged which requires internal investigation. Was this working and was there an accident with it... dropping manhandling, or accident with power or cables? There could be a cable that has fallen off between the main board and where the audio outs and jacks are. Be very careful if you open this of ribbon cables from the halves of the shell.

My rp90 reads out pd when i plug it in and is stuck in this pd mode and doesnt let me play anything how do i unstuck it from this pd mode

Try a factory reset. This is the procedure
1. Press and hold the Store button while powering up the RP90.
2. When the display prompts you with FR, release the Store button.
3. Press and hold the Store button for 3 seconds until RS appears in the display and release. The Factory Reset procedure takes approximately 10 seconds.
4. Once the factory reset has finished you will need to calibrate the Expression Pedal.

On my yamaha v50 keyboard there is another sound on the keys after the c3 key how do i turn it off to just leave the synth sound?

you must do master reset!

1) Turn on the power.

TIP: All buttons must remain depressed and be pressed in the order mentioned in step #2 for proper execution.

2) Press and hold down the [SEQ] button, then the [CARD] button (located next to the Demo button), and then the [DEMO] button.

3) Continue to hold the buttons down until the dialog box appears in the display. The display will first indicate the V50 Test Program and Main Rom Version then will automatically display the question: 'Test Entry Manual?'

4) Press the [DEMO] button. The screen will display: 'Factory Set?'

5) Press the [+1/YES] button. 'OK' will appear beneath the 'Factory Set?' readout, indicating completion of the Factory Reset, and the V50 will automatically return to Play Mode.

MY korkg PA800 doesnt load the opperating system and it wont let me reformat it, all i get on startup is a clear screen and nothing else happens

I don't know if your keyboard has a lithium battery for memory backup but that used to be a symptom of battery failure in other synths. Here is a link to a forum that discusses all the various problems:http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=38399 Lots of reading buts lots of links and help.

Only the piano sound works on my D-20. If i press a key in any other voice or instrument it just makes a high pitch sound and freezes up. And on the ''B'' bank its all organ sounds.

We can't possibly guess at what brand a D20 might be,,, HOWEVER let's guess that it is some kind of synth.

I would "guess" that you problem might be that the ionternal memory battery has depleted and the settings and sounds are all lost.

First thing would to be replace the battery. Next the settings need to be restored. SOME instruments have a sequence of buttons to hold while powering on to restore factory settings. Others require you to load data from an external source via MIDI or other method.
