Key card lock to my hotel door will blink green then red and not unlock the door when i put the key card in. What is the problem/

The green blink is it registering the card. Good news is you are putting it in the correct way. The red means the card is either not for that room (double check your room number) or has lost its encoding. Likely if you booked an extra unexpected day or the card came close to something magnetic erasing the data.

Easy fix is to go to the front desk with your I.D. or name and room number and they will fix the card for you.

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone (or while your phone is unplugged). Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

When I transfer a call from the front desk, the person's voicemail does not pick up, it transfers back to front desk.

Either the voicemail box isn't setup, the voicemail box isn't assigned to that extension, or that extension has forwarding setup that is incorrect. I have no experience with a Nortel phone system though so if you need specifics on how to get into those areas of your system to fix them you'll have to wait for another response.

is the light on the front of set blinking at all. if not try unplugging set wait 20 minutes plug back in is the light blinking now?

I had the same problem. Once I read the owners manual I found the charge light blinks to indicate that you have voicemail waiting to be retrieved via telecom provider. Much to my surprise I have a voicemail account I never requested.

Another mystery solved - I now know why I missed so many messages.

Message Waiting Indicator Your phone's message waiting indicator is either a light or special tone that alerts you when you have voice mail.

Occasionally, the message waiting indicator may be out of sync with your mailbox. In that case, the indicator light or tone is ON but there are no messages waiting, or the indicator light or tone is OFF when there are new messages waiting.

To get the message indicator back in sync

Save or delete all new messages
Hang up.
If the message indicator does not go out or stop within a few minutes, there may be a problem, and you should contact Verizon.
If the message indicator does go out or stop, call your own number and leave a message
Hang up and wait
If the indicator light or tone does not come on within a few minutes, there may be a problem, and you should contact the vender.
