If its atomic it needs to be in a place were it can receive the signal well, put it on auto & leave it on a window sill for a while & it will set its self, mine does.

You may need to set it to UTC time or GMT, then use GMT - 6 for central standard time

If you are within range of their radio signals, the clock will reset itself once a day. If it doesn't do so in your house, try leaving it in your car over night. That's what worked for me.

I have a barolo atomic clock, batteries went dead.when I changed batteries I could not get the clock off of pacific coast time. bob pittsburgh
Make sure the day is displayed instead of seconds, then homd down the + button for 5 seconds. Every 5 seconds should advance it on zone. Had same problem and just got done resetting mine this way.
