Your Sony receiver is in protect mode due to component failure internally.

Most of SMPS can be repaired by local technicians, if u have a local person available, get it repaired, else submit at service center & get it repaired done.

Make sure the TV and Sony are the same format. Either PAL or NTSC depending on what country you are in. You cannot mix formats.

I am having the same issue. From what I can tell (at least in my case), there was a disc stuck in the DVD drive. I had to dismantle the chassis, remove the drive and manually "eject" the disc. There is a manual screw port under the BD/DVD drive that you turn and it will manually eject the disc. However, removing the disc from the drive did not solve my problem. I am still getting the BD/DVD displayed when powering the system back on and the light is flashing as you described.

The "PROTECT" and "PUSH POWER" messages will flash alternately when the protective device of the amplifier has been activated because a strong signal was input, or if there is a short-circuit detected. Press the POWER button on the unit to turn off the system, and check the following items after "STANDBY" disappears.

1) Are the + and - speaker cords short-circuited?
2) Are you using only the specified speakers?.
3) Is anything blocking the ventilation holes of the system?
