To whom it may concern,

Press guide once, and it will open the guide. Press it again and it will begin alternating between different programs.
"My HD"
"My favorites"
"All Channels"

Keep pressing guide until it says "My channels", this will prevent you from seeing channels that you cannot view.
Best of luck

In your guide, in the top left hand side, it will show which favorites list you are in. My Channels is all the channels you are subscribed to, My HD Channels are all the HD channels you are subscribed to, All channels is every channel whether you subscribe to it or not, and then any of your own custom favorites lists. While these selections change what is in your guide, it also changes what is available when you flip channels without the guide. While viewing the guide onscreen, hit the guide button again and change which favorites list you are using to one you prefer.

After this, the only channels skipped will be ones that either don't exist, or are outside of your selected favorites list.

What's the imput button or code on remote for ten year old TV. Model #14MS2331/17

According to the manual for the Magnavox 14MS2331/17B, you switch to the A/V input by pressing Ch+ or Ch- on either the TV or the remote until you see AV as the current option. (Thus you have to scroll down from Channel 2 or up from Channel 69 for an OTA signal. For cable TV, the AV will be reached by Ch - from channel 1 or Ch + from channel 125.) See page 3 (7 of the PDF) here: http://download.m4c.magnavox.com/files/1/14ms2331_17b/14ms2331_17b_dfu_aen.pdf .

Since it is possible to skip channels by editing the channel list, you may need to check if the AV option has been skipped. To do this, press Menu. Use the up/down buttons to navigate to Install and press the right button to enter this menu. Highlight the Channel Edit line and press the right button to check this. Once in this sub-menu, use the left/right buttons to scroll through the Channel number options (or use Ch+/Ch- to see the stored list). You can also type in a channel number on the remote. Press the down arrow to change to the line that reads Skipped. Use the left/right arrows to change between Yes or No. (No indicates you can reach the channel with the Ch+/Ch- buttons.) Use the Up arrow to return to the channel number line to scroll to other channels. Press Status/Exit to leave the menu system. See page 10 (14 of the PDF) for details.

I hope this helps.

Toshiba LCD TV/DVD 15LV505 lost channels. Rescan = fewer channels. Now in Setup, when I press the remote down-it skips the Channel option. What must I fix/change in Settings to get the Channel option?

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.

Dewalt DSCN1360 tuner problem

Don't you have an automatic tuning system or ATS? By pressing a band switch for a while the ATS starts looking for stations and stores the ones that have a good enough signal. Even if a station broadcasts but the location of the radio is not adequate for a good signal to be received, the station won't register and it will appear to you that the tuner is skipping.

I lost the remote to my Toshiba cz27t31. I bought an RCA universal remote. The RCA manual says the tv should be set to channel 1. But I can't change the channel without the remote. So I am SOL! How...

  • You have to set the channel you want as a favorite first and you can do this from the TV. This is why the channels skip as you press up and down. Sometime or another those were someones favorite channels.
  1. Press "MENU" on the TV until "SET UP" appears on the screen.
  2. Now press ^ or v until "FAVORITE CH" appears in purple.
  3. Now press < or > to display the favorite channel FAVORITE CH menu.
  4. You will use < or > to got between "SET and "CLEAR."
  5. So now go to "SET" and press ^ or v until you get to channel 1.
  6. If you want to delete a channel first then select "CLEAR" and then add the channel you wish.
  • What your doing when you push the channel up and down on the TV buttons is going through the favorite channels. So make one of the favorite channels channel 1 and program your remote.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Auto Channel Search places all channels in skip mode causing channel changes to made by number input instead of up/down button. Having to manually turn "Skip" off on each channel individually.

check the agc line from the tuner is functioning properly, if the agc signal , is not reaching the processor it will register that channel as being inactive and lock it out, there is not much circuit to contend with so a multimeter should do the trick to trace down the fault, you should find AGC marked on the board where the tuner modual is mounted.. i suggest obtaining a service manual to do the job good luck

More channels

Go into the menu to the "Search" tab, channel down until you are on "auto search" then press "volume up"

this will automatically add channels you can get, you can manually change skip settings there too if you want to not see a channel you get or for some reason add a channel you don't get etc.
