"no line" means that the phone's base station can't find the land-line to connect to. Check that it's plugged into your phone line.

Testimonial: "I did . . . it is. Still nothing."

Do you have another phone to test the line with? Or can you plug your new wireless phone into a known-good line? It's also possible that the cord is bad.

Panasonic fax machine plays "not

First, the phone line to your fax machine should go through the filter.
Also, you haven't mentioned if you can just dial and call someone. Can you?

One way to test it is to dial manually as you would dial any telephone number.

Insert the document to be faxed, lift the receiver on the fax machine, listen for a clear dial tone, then dial the number.

If there is a fax machine at the other end you will hear the chirping sound after a few rings. Then press START and see what happens.

No matter what fax number I dial, I hear the cannot be reached as dialed message. I have one verizon phone line, with verizon DSL running off of the same line. My phone line is okay, because I can reach...

It is probably the same problem I just had with mine through Comcast. All I was getting was a not answered message no matter what number I dialed. I had the telephone line running through a surge surpressor that had one line running in and then two lines running out. I had been hooking up my fax through one of the two out lines. When I switched it to the main line and not through the surge protector everything worked fine.

So if you have any splitters or surge surpressors on your line - switch to the main line and see if your problems does away like mine did.

Have a great night!

The fax appears to dial the number successfully. The receiving fax is turned on. It apprears to try for a long time. The error report says "no answer."

It is not your fax line is the other party.did you try any other number?
Post back.

Solution one: Perform a fax line test Perform a fax line test to check whether the fax line is properly connected. Step one: Run a Fax Test
  1. Press the Setup button (c01395353.jpg ) on the product control panel.
  2. Use the Arrow keys (c01073166.jpg ) to select Service , select Fax Service , select Run Fax Test , and then press OK . The Fax Test prints.
    • If the report passes, try to resend the fax.
    • If the report fails with the message 'Fail - the phone line is not active,' plug the cable into a working telephone jack, and then try to resend the fax.
    • If the report fails with the message 'Fail - the cord is in the wrong port,' continue to 'Step two: Change the cable to the correct port.'
Step two: Change the cable to the correct port Make sure the telephone cable is inserted in the correct port. Remove the cord for the fax line from the port labeled with a telephone, and then insert it into the correct port. Figure 1: Fax portsc01756259.gif Scanner error message The message 'Scanner error ' displays on the product control panel while sending a fax. Solution: Check paper size This product only supports paper less than 381 mm (15 in). Use only letter, A4, or legal sized paper for sending faxes. To send this fax, copy or print the original document onto shorter paper, and then resend.

How do I record a message in my rca visys phone to be played when someone calls in?

Melissa is correct about the manual being wrong. You have to press the Sel/Save button, not the Exit button after recording a personal message. Then you have to follow the directions on page 23 to Configure each line to Personal Message.

My samsung tocca isn't receiving all txt messages

Hi, you can try and use the factory reset to reset it. it might be jammed. Also you can check the message center number through the message settingif the number is correct with the network you are using on the phone.

If the message number is not there or not correct, you can call the customers care line to help you out.

Take care.

How to access messages remotely

While you are away from your home or
office, you can use a touch-tone phone,
or a pulse (rotary) phone with a pocket
tone dialer (available through your local
RadioShack store) to enter your PIN and
do any of the following:
• set the phone to answer or not
answer calls
• listen to your messages
• record a new outgoing message
• erase messages
• monitor the room where the phone
is located
Notes:
• You cannot remotely operate the
phone using its handset or another
telephone on the same line as the
phone.
• You can also listen to the message
recorded on Line 2 by making a call
to Line 1’s number (or vice versa).
USING THE TOLL-SAVER
If RING TIME is set to TS (toll-saver),
(see “Setting the Number of Rings” on
Page 15), the phone answers after three
rings if you have new messages (ones
you have not listened to). If there are no
new messages, the phone answers after
five rings. This gives you time to hang
up before the phone answers so you
can avoid unnecessary long-distance
charges.
Note: Toll-saver works only on the line
you called. If Line 1 has no new messages,
but Line 2 has one, the telephone
answers after five rings when you
call Line 1.
USING REMOTE
COMMANDS
Follow these steps to operate the phone
from a remote location.
Note: If you wait more than 15 seconds
between keypresses, the phone sounds
a long beep and hangs up.
1. Dial your phone number and wait for
the phone to answer.
2. If the phone is not set to answer
calls, it answers after about 10 rings
and sounds a series of beeps.
3. When the outgoing message begins
(or the phone sounds a series of
beeps), press #, then enter your PIN
within 2 seconds.
If the PIN is correct, the phone announces
the day and time, then it announces
the number of new and old messages.
The phone plays all new messages,
then beeps about every two seconds to
let you know it is ready to accept remote
commands.
Notes:
• If the phone does not respond, try
entering your PIN again. If you enter
an incorrect PIN three times, the
phone beeps and hangs up.
Remote Operation 27
• When the phone is operating from a remote location, it stops all answering functions
and rC appears on the display on the base. The phone resumes answering
functions when it is no longer in remote operation, if you have not turned it off.
• The remote playback of incoming messages is limited to 4 minutes. If you have
more messages after 4 minutes have passed, you must press # 2 again to listen
to the rest of the messages.
• When using remote operation, you can only delete the current message during
playback. You cannot delete all the messages stored at one time.
The following table shows the remote commands you can use.
Note: Remote operation stops when someone picks up the handset and presses either
LINE 1 or LINE 2 (whichever is flashing), or any phone on the same phone line.
Remote Commands
Press #
then (within
2 seconds:
Function
1
Repeat current message during playback.
2 Play messages.
3 Skip current message during playback.
4 Delete current message during playback.
5 Stop playback, recording, and room monitoring.
6 Set the phone to answer or not answer calls.
7 Record or stop recording a new outgoing message.
8 Play the outgoing message.
9 Switch to the other line (Line 1 or Line 2).
0 Monitor the room where the phone is located for 15 seconds

RCA 25205 wont answer correctly

Yeah, I've wasted all morning messing with this. My personal outgoing message keeps reverting back to default. I just got off the phone with RCA and here's the fix for that part of the problem. Go into "Configure Out-Going Announcement" (page 23) and then select "personal," This finally made it stay there. The number I called for help is 1-800-511-3180, or 1-866-285-4651. Good luck!
