You did not say what version of windows you are using but the most common fix is to delete the printer and if it asks if you want to delete the driver files say YES. Then reboot the computer and it should reinstall the printer.
Try using the Lexmark Productivity Studio to scan. To access that, on your computer, click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark 5600-6600 Series > Lexmark Productivity Studio.
If it doesn't work, try to uninstall the Lexmark driver and download an updated driver online at support.lexmark.com.
Try to download and install the Lexmark X5650 printer driver for Windows 7 from the Lexmark website. First, disconnect your printer from your computer.
