Make sure the Lamp door is tight. Unplug the TV, and remove the lamp and then reinstall the lamp making sure the door is tight. Then plug the TV in and try again. If it does not work, please post the model # of the TV.

It is starting to sound like it might be a fan. However, there is something you can look at. Here is the manual for the TV. Please look at page 65 and see what the indicators lights are telling you. The lights will flash in a certain pattern. We need to know that pattern

SOURCE: Hitachi 55VG825 rear proj television blinking light and screen doesn't light up

Refer to owners manual ! Blinking indicates the type of fault that is occuring on all your tv sets. example : power light on red - indicator light beside it green but blinks rapidly for half a second rapidly then shuts off. This refers to a faulty lamp or a lamp that is near its expiration. Read your manuals if indicators refer to easy repair sweet, but if it says call tech then bummer...

SOURCE: power was off

You need to replace 4 capacitors on the DM board. It is located inside a metal box on the left side of the set, looking from the rear. The original parts are 1000uf 16v. You will need to install 1000uf 25v or 35v. They are located at the top of the board and are green colored.

SOURCE: projection lamp timer reset

The others are almost right. You first hold down the minus button on your "TV", then at the same time hold down 0 on your remote. Make sure if you have a universal remote to swich it to TV.

Try holding down VOL - on the TV panel and then hold SPLIT or PIP on the remote for 5 seconds. A message should appear saying it is reset. I hope this helps.

Can I reset the lamp timer without the original remote

No, original remote is needed for this--a universal will not cut it.

If Panasonic the remotes are usually reasonably priced and have all the features you really need.
