The drum rollers or idler pulley/belt would be suspect. The link above will help on all makes and models.

Bra wire stuck in washing machine

You could try a very thin pair of twezers, or a very thin magnetic pick up tool, you might be luck.. if not the only other way is to remove the ruber door seal to get acces to the inside of the drum.

Maytag super capacity washer #SAV 4655 AWW Makes a verry loud squeel in spin cycle only. Does not leak any water or oil.

This can be a symptom of drum bearing wear. A quick check for wear is to see if the inner drum moves up and down relative to the fixed outer drum. It should only move a minute amount. If it moves more than a milli metre or two, it is probably worn bearings. You can obtain bearing kits for most makes. If it is making unusual noises while washing too, check there is not a wire or similar object trapped half way into one of the drum holes. A high pitched whine is sometimes caused by the motor bearings (but most brush/commutator motors whine a bit anyway on higher speeds, it is normal). Oil sparingly so as not to contaminate the carbon brushes.

A wire has got trapped behind the drum - washing machine still works, but makes a hell of a noise. How do I get access to the outside of the drum to hopefully locate and remove metal wire ? Thanks, Ian

depends on what make of washing machine it is best way is to locate where the element is either in the back of machine or the front. remove element normally the wire gets caught around the element

Makes a terrible squealing problem but still heats

Remove the drum.
Inspect the drum seal, rear rollers, tension roller, front drum glides.
It could be any one of these bad or a combination of theses.

How to remove Bra wire trapped between drums.

Try to see if there is a large rubber sleeve underneath that you can remove. It will probably be fastened with a clamp. Make very sure that you get it tightened afterwards, or it may leak.

Dropped drum

probable that the bearings have collapsed. remove back panel.undo wiring to heater and stats and make a note of where it goes. remove back plate of the tub assemby held by a clamp right round. drum andback plate then come out complete. take off pulley and put back bolt in shaft. tap bolt and you should be able to knock drum from backplate. you can then check bearings. you will need to replace bearings, lip seal and backplate seal.parts are not too expensive. check also condition of journal lip seal runs on. this must be in good condition.
