The past user (my dad) has printed less than 400 pages and had to replace 2 cartridges. The lights for the other 2 cartridges are now lit and he's frustrated. The printer claims 1246 pages have been printed!
The Supply Status Page info for the last inputted Cyan cartridge says 99% capacity & 297 pages remaining. Only 4 pages have been printed using the new HP Q3961A cartridge. It should print 4,000 pages at 5% coverage.
The new Blace cartridge Q3960A has printed less than 100 text pages and shows 69% remaining, 1191 pages printed w/ this supply and 2650 pages remaining. It's supposed to print 5,000 pages at 5% coverage.
These are genuine HP cartridges purchased from SAMS club. Could a sensor be dirty? One additional comment is that I tried the drum reset sequence everyone mentions, and got the imaging drum number to reset. Somehow, magically, the # of pages remaining for the cyan cartridge also increased twice. Only 3 pages had been printed, but it increased from 297 to396 to 792. Something is wierd. These are genuine HP cartridges purchased from SAMS club. Could a sensor be dirty? Re you using genuine HP NEW cartridges? If not, you must make sure that whoever has re manufactured the ones you are using has replaced the chip on the cartridge. This tells the machine how many copies are on the cartridge.

The instructions for getting the page count for the C210SF should be the same as for the C231SF:
- Press User Tools. - Scroll down until you see Reports Print. - Press OK. - Scroll down to either Configuration Page (2 pages long, prints in black and white) or Maintenance Page (1 page long, prints in color). - Press OK.
Both the configuration page and the maintenance page will show the page counts. For page count instructions on other models of copiers or printers, check out ConfigPages.Blogspot.com.
I have been told that HP printers have a built in program that will make printer fail after a set number of pages have printed, and if the NV Ram is reset this will reset the page count, page count resides in the transparent, image or drum kit. I dont know how to find this or reset page count but if anyone knows i would like to do this on my hp printer please any help.
Hi, The problem could be caused due to blocked printer nozzles or bad print head. Try cleaning the ink nozzles first. 1 Press Setup. 2 Press 5, then press 1. This selects Tools and then selects Clean Print Cartridge. A page of patterns is printed. The print cartridges are cleaned. Recycle or discard the page. If copy or print quality still seem poor after you clean the print cartridges, replace the print cartridge that is affected. For information on replacing print cartridges, see replace the print cartridges.
The link for the user manual can be found at http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/bpu72474.pdf
This is a page count function so that the PC drum is replaced at an elapsed count of pages printed. If you have changed the PC drum and the message hasnt cleared - Go into config menu (Hold down the tick & back buttons on power up) Select ''Reset PC Count'. When this is reset the replace PC message will not appear.
If you wanto refill the cratridge, even after refill you'll need to reset your printer page count to 0.Download the firmware from here run the software and this will reset the page count to 0. Samsung printers generally do not support a refilled cartridge and thus the red light. But resetting the page count to 0 makes the printer detect the cartridge as an intoductory one.

NOTE:
The software CD-ROM that came with the HP Color LaserJet 2820/2830/2840 all-one includes an animated tutorial that shows how to replace the print cartridges.
Remove any media from the ADF, and then push the scanner-release button to open the scanner assembly.
Open the cartridge door.
Make sure that the correct print-cartridge slot is in the access position.
If the correct print-cartridge slot is not in the access position, close the top cover and the scanner assembly, and then press ROTATE CAROUSEL until the correct print-cartridge slot is in the correct position.
Pinch together the two large blue tabs on the first cartridge, and then lift the cartridge straight up to remove it from the carousel.
Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging, remove the orange cover from the print cartridge, and then pull the orange tab straight out to remove the sealing tape.
Squeeze the blue release levers on the print cartridge, holding it with the roller facing you. Lower the cartridge straight down into the carousel until it is firmly in place.
To replace another cartridge, close the top cover and the scanner assembly, press ROTATE CAROUSEL , and then repeat the previous steps.
NOTE:

Close the top cover, and then close the scanner assembly.
That depends on what you are printing.
Any time you read stats about page count, it is usually based on 30% coverage of the page.
Depending on what you are printing, it can be more or less.
Estimated yield is 30,000 pages for a standard cartridge.
Using an aftermarket (refill) cartridge can vary greatly.
And as mentioned, it really depends on what you are printing.
