Dishwasher coming on but without any water

My dishwasher is coming on but without any water. There is plenty of salt in and water in a salt dispenser but water is not coming in. Dishwasher will start on regular program but then after about 5 min will skip to pan program and stay there making a strange noise but no water is coming in. This is a built in dishwasher into the kitchen unit. I've looked through everything what I could to see whether is blocked and seems fine so not sure what would be the next step?

SOURCE: Dishwasher just draines and nothing else??

this sounds like it could be the heater element has gone faulty, it is quite difficult to get to test it with it being built in, but basically gain access to the underneath of the appliance and you can test it with a test meter for open circuit, it is also possible that a wire has either come off or broken, the pump pumping out is like a safety mechanism, the eco wash may work because this uses no heat? (some models) the answer i have given you is based on the info you have supplied if i have helped please rate me, thank you, please work safe unplug when working on appliances

Have a hotpoint aquarius dishwasher Won't work powers up Red light comes on with salt 2 nd red light come on showing X What is the X? Please

Here's what you can do to address this issue:
  1. Check the Salt Level: Ensure that the salt reservoir is filled with dishwasher salt. The dishwasher needs salt to soften the water and improve the cleaning performance. If the salt level is low or empty, refill the reservoir with dishwasher salt.
  2. Check the Salt Dispenser Cap: Make sure that the salt dispenser cap is securely closed. If it's not closed properly, it can cause the "X" symbol to appear on the display.
  3. Reset the Dishwasher: Try resetting the dishwasher by turning it off at the mains power supply for a few minutes, then turning it back on. This can sometimes clear error codes and restore normal operation.
  4. Check for Blockages: Ensure that the salt dispenser and its inlet are free from any blockages or obstructions that could prevent salt from dissolving properly.
  5. Consult the Manual: If the issue persists, refer to the dishwasher's user manual for troubleshooting steps specific to your model. The manual may provide additional information about error codes and how to resolve them.
If none of these steps resolve the issue and the "X" symbol continues to appear on the display, it may indicate a more significant problem with the dishwasher that requires professional diagnosis and repair. In such cases, contacting Hotpoint customer service or a qualified appliance technician for assistance is recommended.

Hi my kleenmaid silent system think it's a dw2 the salt button is flashing you turn it on it goes to start then stops we cleaned it all out and fix the problem once before but this time nothing works. I'm...

If water is soft in your area you can ignore the salt indicator light and operate the dishwasher without adding regenerating salt. However, you need to ensure the salt reservoir is filled with water to the brim. So add water into the reservoir and then put the cap back on.

Both drawers not cleaning well. Glassware comes out cloudy. Have cleaned all filters, taken out rotors etc. Some detergent remains in dispenser after wash cycle complete. Now 5 years old and was working...

Try running a hot wash without anything in and just use some dishwasher cleaner (normal cleaner).
Also make sure your water softness is set correctly and that your salt dispenser is full.

White film on glasses. Cannot find solution,

Check water quality. clean the drain filter in the machine. Check spray arm spray jet holes. Clean if clogged.

If you suspect salt chamber try removing all the salt by flushing with water externally. Refill with fresh salt.

Glass and cups coming out with a milky stain on them, no shine at all.

Rub a little vinegar on the surface of an affected item. Does the stain vanish? If so then you have limescale deposits caused by no salt in the machine.

No salt can be an empty dispenser, a faulty dispenser, or using dishwasher tablets/powder without additional supplementary salt in a hard water area. it can also be caused by having the salt dispensing control set too low (on many models it's a lever located adjacent to the dispenser lid).
