Check batteries for volts and load test. if ok it could be the motor brushes need attention, speed pot faulty, Wig-Wag faulty. You may need to get professional help.

SOURCE: I have a Pride Legnd..the scooter started loseing

hi, first you need to check the connections to the batteries then to the motor controller, and don't dismiss the speed pot, disconnect the speed pot and try a normal 5K pot inplace of it, if the scooters responds you find the problem just a case of getting the right speed pot. Check the freewheel switch, normally it located on the motor side.

SOURCE: I have a milan mobility scooter, turn the key & it sounds a low

Hi. This sounds difficult. I have had a few scooters move slowly forward or in reverse, but not both. Normally if the speed pot ( wig wag ) is not exactly in the central position, they can do this.
It is possible for a scooter to have your problem, if the speed lever is binding or rubbing on the housing. Normally the lever is returned to the middle by a spring around the speed pot shaft. If this spring is loose or broken, then this could also cause the problem. Sometimes a small spot of oil or grease will help.
To check the speed lever is in the middle, slowly move the lever for forward untill you hear the brake solenoid release. Now release the lever and slowly pull it for reverse untill you hear the brake solenoid release. Make sure that the speed lever moves the same amount for forward as it does for reverse. If not adjust it with the key off.
If you get the machine to drive properly, then change the controller to see if it is OK.
As for the beeping, a lot of machines will go into an error mode if the speed lever is not in the central position when you turn the key on. This is a safety precausion.
Good luck. Neil.

SOURCE: My schwinn s750 elec. scooter

Yes that is quite dangerous and definitely not normal operation . It sounds like something in the throttle itself is not sensing the turn correctly. You are going to want to get the part from Schwinn directly, they will know which part, and can provide the manual to you as well. Their number is 1.706.860.8880

SOURCE: Batteries are fully charged. Scooter goes at full

Based on your description you have a bad throttle potentiometer or speed potentiometer. Remove the covers of the front console and check the resistance throughout the range of both pots at the connector. It should be even throughout the range with no dead spots. The newer CTE throttle pot is more reliable than the older model Celebrity scooter with the 5K ohm potentiometer. I usually replace the throttle and speed pots as a pair since they are connected electrically in the console.
Load test the batteries while you are driving. Using your voltmeter that is still connected under the rear cover while you are driving, check to see if you get a voltage drop of more than 1 volt. Static testing of batteries only tells you that there is a full charge. It does not give you an indication of how the batteries perform under load.
If you have clean brushes, you can still have a large amount of conductive brush dust in the motor and armature. Blow out the dust with compressed air. Check the motor and brake with you meter. The motor coil resistance should be less than 1.5 ohms and the brake should read between 40 to 60 ohms. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: set to move at 8

Hi, Sadly that sounds like your batteries have called it a day however please check your charger as this can have a fault and this can make your batteries appear weak and the battery teminal connections, are they loose ?. Check your manual as I think you can fit 12V 40Amp batteries to this scooter.

Please leave feedback if my advice helps.

What makes a speed pot go bad on a celebrity x 3 wheel scooter?

Yup you got a code seven failure code, speed pot malfunction . What pots typically do is that they oxidise. This pot is a variable rersistor that opeates between 0 - 30k ohms. When tuning the pot it shoud ram up and down smoothly. To test for this
You may also need a VOM meter only $9
http://www.amazon.com/Mastech-YG188-Pocket-size-analog-multimeter/dp/B00064CH6A/ref=sr_1_8?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1339024102&sr=1-8
Disconnect batteries from the scooter. Simply attach the multimeter to the pots terminals, select correct ohms scale and watch the needle. Th needle when turning the pot should move gracefully up to 30k down to zero as the pot dial scooter speed increases. Failure is detected when the needle jumps around, the oxidation causes the pot to connect inteermitently. USE CRC CONTACT Cleaner to get the oxidation out of the pot. The potss are not sealed so there are little holes you can spray into. Use liberal of cleanner.

My scooter is too slow, the battery charges, but only drives at a very slow speed. While going backwards drives at a good speed. Can you tell what to do??Many thanks Diana Donald

Hi dianaidonald

I have owned my own business for 3 years and have been working on scooters and powerchairs for 15 years. I know exactly what the problem is. Your problem is the throttle pot or somtime called the engager. or the speed pot.
1.. Replace the throttle pot and or (speed pot most likely the problem).

Good Luck

I have a 2002four wheel Legend Mobility scooter.

Hi. A lot of scooters have a seperate switch to select a high or low speed setting.
This switch is sometimes labeled indoor/ outdoor.
I have had a few scooters with a similar fault, and the wires that connect to the high/low switch have broken of the terminals on the rear of the switch.
It could also be a faulty speed control pot.
Check these and good luck. Neil.

Sounds like you have a bad throttle pot. You`ll need to check the resistance on it or take it to a dealer.
