Without knowing the brand of satellite TV and the brand of DSL it is impossible to answer this question and even with all the brand and model information, every home install is different and custom to that home. I would contact my satellite TV provider

I want to connect the home theater system (Sony DZ-810) with Sony LCD TV and also with receiver of the satellite also with Xbox and I want the home theater works as the speakers of the TV without...

Hi,here is my simple solution...
If you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your receiver,
** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV
** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input"
** than just switch to respective mode on RECEIVER corresponding your RCA or Optic connection...
There you go..Your TV sound is on the Receiver..By this means whatever you watch on the
TV (
tuner, satellite , Xbox ) ,it's sound will come thru your stereo..

Hope this helps!
Take care and please

Followed all the set up steps but my DSL light would not stay on

  • 1 Plug the Ethernet cable into the Internet port on your wall. If you do not have Internet ports installed in your home, connect a phone line adapter to a phone line jack. The adapter makes the phone line wider so Ethernet cables can connect to it. This does not block your phone from use.
  • 2 Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Internet port on the back side of the Netgear DSL modem.
  • 3 Connect the Netgear DSL modem to a local power source. The power plug inserts into the modem via a small port on the rear of the modem.
  • 4 Insert a second Ethernet cable into one of the numbered ports on the back of the modem. Run the cable to your computer and plug it into the Ethernet port on the computer.
  • 5 Look on the back end of the DSL modem for an HTTP: address. Type this into your Internet browser's search bar. The Netgear DSL modem menu appears on the screen.
  • 6 Select how many computers are to use the modem, if you are using it with other DSL modems and set up a password (the default username and password is "admin"). Click "OK" to initiate the changes you made to the menu. You can now use your Netgear DSL modem to connect to the Internet.

When my phone rings the kids get booted off xbox live and i have wireless internet and wireless adapter for xbox360

    Hi Jeannie,

Based on your problem I assume that you have DSL. When you get hooked up for DSL they send filters that you are supposed to put between EVERY phone and the jack. (Don't forget phone lines for satellite and alarm systems).

If your dsl drops every time the phone rings, there are usually 2 things that cause this.

    1) A bad filter in your house. If a filter is bad or missing it can cause the dsl to drop either when the phone rings or if someone picks up the phone with the bad filter.

    2) The other reason could be on your ISP's side. It's called a POTS splitter. You have one of these if you have BOTH phone and DSL. It's what sort of combines the 2 together. There are a number of problems that can occur with a bad pots splitter. i.e. DSL works - phone totally dead, Phone works-dsl - totally dead, disconnects, etc...

I suggest that you hook up the dsl modem by itself. DISCONNECT ALL PHONES IN THE HOUSE. Do NOT have anything connected at all except the dsl modem. No filters, phones, directv, digital cable, or anything else in a phone jack. Then when you are up and surfing, take your cell phone and call your house. Technically it should just ring and ring. Unless you have voice mail in which case it will go to voice mail after so many rings. Anyway, see if when the line is ringing in your cell phone if it is dropping you off. If it DOESN'T, then it's probably one of the filters, jacks, or wiring. If it still disconnects, it's probably the POTS splitter with your ISP.

Good luck and if this helped please help me out and leave feedback!

    Thanks!

How do I set up my receiver to connect with my tv, dvd recorder and a satellite box?

You can connect the satellite box to the TV and the dvd recorder with a coaxial splitter but you need to check with the recorder's manual for their recommended installtion procedure for your specific purpose.

Im trying to get my sattelite signal to come thru my computer. I have the tv card installed with the vista drivers. I had no problem getting cable thru on this. But now I have sattleite tv and now Im...

There is no real way to get satellite signals into your PC. There are many companies on the net that are selling software that supposedly does this and they are all a scam. Getting cable is easy because your cable connects to the TV tuner card you installed and then converts this into the various channels. Satellite tuners work completely different.
