How to print draft quality using kx p1121 printer

Using a high dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution for printing produces quality printing results, but it may take longer to print. You can change the resolution settings to a lower dpi setting, depending on the type of printer that you use. If the printer that you use supports draft quality printing, you can specify draft quality for faster printing instead.

Hi,
Try setting the printing properties to fast draft or draft. It provides a average quality document faster using less ink.
To do this, go to Start->Control Panel and then Printers. Right click on your printer and choose printing preferences. Find the setting for the quality and select Draft or Fast Draft if it is available.
Please note that this printer has a rate of 5.36 pages per minute, so even with the draft you will not see much difference.

hi solution may be simple:
back in the times of DOS USB was not up to date, so older applications(if run in DOS mode) may not b ebale to address the usb port.

I would recommend buying a Printer parallel port connection (PCI to LTP1), install it into the system, and use the printer parallel cable.

I have the same Make and Model printer as youself. I just put the printer on program mode (neither of the two lights lit on Font) Typed six different Fond styles within microsoft word and it printerd every one correctly.

Initially, a couple of ideas you may want to try:

• goto Start (or Control Panel), Printers (& Faxes);
• if the Panasonic KX P1121 has been installed, right click on its icon;
• click on Properties;
• click on Ports tab;
• scroll down till USB... Virtual printer port fo.....;
• click to check/enable;
• click OK button;
• ensure no Pending print jobs/Cancel Print;
• try printing a test page;
• in some instances, a reboot may be necessary;
• in most instances when installing, the printer through the USB connection should not be connected yet;
• connect printer to computer through USB only when instructed by the installation program;
• if errors persist, uninstall, re-do clean fresh installations.

Dot matrix printers usually work with IBM compatible native drivers. I have tried similar model with Vista worked fine. You may need to perform manual installation by using LPT1 parallel port. If you cant see similar model in the list you can choose generic text printer or IBM Proprinter.
