you can try to install a software to control your fan's speed, like Speedfan. Otherwise you can try to slow it down from your notebook BIOS. If neither of this solution works, you may just need to replace it with a quiter model, like those made by Thermaltake or Noctua.

Hi. Try to check the sims 3 cd if it has any scratches, if it has check this website (click here) on how to remove those scratches. If the cd is irreparable, you can download the game online using EA download manager. Have you tried to register your game to EA website? If you not follow these steps:
1. Open EA download manager (if you don't have that program download it from this site) 2. Click "Register" 3. Find the game you want to register in your case that would be "SIMS 3" 4. It will ask for your registration code which can be find in the booklet inside the cd case. 5. When your done with the registration, click "log in". 6. The program will then show you the game that you have registered and you can now "download" it.
